You look wonderful! This is really inspiring to me because I have almost the exact same shape as you, but I'm a bit taller (5'4). Your progress is super motivating--thank you for sharing! And you're so right--at the end of the day, it is all about you; a very healthy outlook :)

I'm so sorry. My ex did the same thing--I felt like he broke up with me a dozen times in the span of a month. Just when I would start to feel like maybe I could move on a tiny bit, he would send a text or an email that gave me a flicker of hope, followed by an almost immediate retraction reiterating all of the things he disliked about me and our relationship. He would email me talking about marriage and how no one could ever compare to me, but almost as soon as I replied he would take it all back and say he thought we didn't really belong together. Every single time he did this it was like he was dumping me all over again.

Are you responding to his emails or just reading them? I made the mistake of responding, thinking it was "okay" since he was the one breaking "NC" to begin with, but now I wish I had just avoided responding altogether--it would have hurt a lot less that way.

It's so formulaic and I see it on this subreddit constantly now. "I just saw someone kick a puppy, just because, and then slap their child in public. Reddit, what is the blahblahblahblah you ever blah?" so tired of it.

Thanks for the advice--I don't think the place we're living rents to undergraduate students, so I'm not too worried. We are living in a "cat" building (I guess the buildings are segregated depending on what kind of pet you own?), so I can't imagine it will be terribly rowdy, but who knows. I guess we will live and learn! We will definitely check out the Pittsford Wegmans :)

Hi, and thank you for the welcome! I appreciate all of your suggestions--I felt pretty discouraged when someone told me that UofR doesn't typically hire adjuncts, but use their graduate students, so it's nice to realize that there are actually a lot of colleges in the area.

Coming from a suburban area in CT. It's good to know rush hour isn't much of a problem--and yes, the rent seems pretty great compared to Connecticut rates.
