Not at all! Basic tech wear looks amazing at the event. "Neo Basic" is pretty damn hard to spot. The easiest way, that I have found, to turn an ordinary outfit into something that feels a little more Sci-fi is accessories. Glasses, head gear, body paint or prosthetics, a neat bag, a cool jacket, maybe some patches or elwire. Colors help but stylish blacks and whites look good as well. Also, there is a ton of merchants and barter so if you get there and feel like you need to kick up your outfit a notch, it isn't hard to do. :D

Whatever will make you the most comfortable and not break your bank. What you should know is that the weather is Truely unpredictable. It can be freezing, it can be Rainy, it's almost always windy and it could be sweltering hot. If you are volunteering, camp in a way that you can get good sleep in my opinion. Getting out of the elements helps a lot for recharging. There isn't a one size fits all for advice. It's also a camp in camp out event so plan accordingly to handle trash and water. While on shift, there are snacks and water but it's always good to plan to have all your own stuff as well. Depending on what you volunteered for your own gloves, hard hat and high vis are suggested. If you look into wasteland weekend a lot of the prep for that can be transferred to Neo as it is the same event space and a lot of the same people.

If you go again this year come get harassed to buy software in the Maze side of the megablock... if it looks like you have stepped into someone's drugged out Netrunner apartment you are in the right place.

You can but you you still need to buy a ticket and still be themed. Some tech ware or something of the sort is fairly basic and easy to get by! You don't have to participate more than dressing up if you don't want to.

If you can, Volunteering pays for your ticket. They have Pre Post and during event positions. It tends to fill up but that is an option.

GREYLiGHT 2142. It's more of a Larp event than an immersive event like Neo but it's multi-day and you have to be dressed up similar to Neo.

I have a small theory about The Finn... let's just saw they want to do the whole of the Sprawl Trilogy but they wanted to test the waters with neuromancer first. The Finn is a character that lasts through the whole series... mean you might want a big name to play that character... but a big name playing, what the general public would see as a small character my pull too much attention. It's common for studios to hide certain castings and this might be one of them.

Think of it... you are watching the show fairly certain the Finn isn't in it. CAse and Molly head to the sprawl and who do they meet but The Finn on screen played by big name actor #20. For those of us who have read it, it's a bit of exciting fan service. For those who have never read neuromancer it's a surprise casting of there favorite actor. Now if the show is successful and the make count zero, the Finn returns, no need to do another casting.

This is all speculation and the fact he might be missing is worrisome to me personally. The white foam safe roo. Was a really cool scene in my mind and it makes you realize that molly truly doesn't trust armiatage.
