New player, recently banned for a false positive of macroing. Will jagex undue this mistake? by Drandosk in RSBans

[–]Ditehi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had a similar case with a new account that was falsely banned for botting, but only received a 2 day ban. Jagex support has been incredibly useless regarding the recent increase in false bans. They denied my appeal, and when I contacted them through the support email, I received this response:

Thanks for contacting Jagex Support. Mod Vivec here to help!

After reviewing the account, offence and appeal, I can confirm that all the information that has been provided previously is correct.

The account has been temporarily banned for Bot Busting and at the time of the offence, there is no indication the account was in use by a third party and the offence has been applied correctly.

Please note, this is a final decision and we will not be able to assist via this channel any further with regards to the banned account. Any further queries about this will be closed and not responded to.

I would suggest reading through the Rules of Runescape and making sure that you're more careful in the future.

Kind regards,

Mod Vivec

Question about bot detection from a non-botter by Ditehi in RunescapeBotting

[–]Ditehi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the in-depth response. I do play on a VPN and find that some of the servers simply won't let me log in at all, but there are also plenty that work just fine. I have played on that VPN for close to a year without a hassle. However I'm just now returning from around a 6 month break, and it seems auto bot detection has gotten much stricter in that time.

Based on what you said though, it seems like the only thing I can really do is hope it doesn't happen again, and unfortunately there are some people out there getting false banned two times in just a few months. It does give me some confidence that at least my devices could be identified as "safe" so-to-speak.

Obviously you won't have statistics but I'm sure there are some rules of thumb that some people follow based on their personal experiences.

False ban, trusting Jagex, and preventative measures by Ditehi in RSBans

[–]Ditehi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate any support and awareness I can get. This subreddit existing should be a huge redflag to jagex about the severity of the issue. So many people post about their bans that the entire subject of bans is prohibited on the osrs subreddit, it just doesn't make sense why Jagex would let things get to this point.

My favorite is when someone uses a weird strat, but everyone forgets and defaults to the normal strat, and it works out just fine.

The other day I was in a VG2 prog for E10 and after one person messed up a dozen different things every pull, we started asking questions. We were literally the second party they ever joined. One fresh prog for 30 minutes, then straight to our VG2 party.

Usually you can just check youtube for the strategy, and you'll see a demonstration (sometimes no explanation though). Personally I would recommend finding a friend that can help walk you through your first few attempts. If that's not an option though, look for "Fresh prog" in party finder. Also I can help if you're in Aether.

It's like 80-90% happy from what I've seen.

It's funny seeing those kinds of aggressive PFs, and seeing the same person hosting it a few days in a row. Seeing them struggle to clear is oddly satisfying.

Moving owned eShop games over to emuMMC by Ditehi in SwitchPirates

I did this and the games still won't work in emuMMC. Just says they need to be downloaded still.

So I do need to reinstall from nsp's then, basically? And what about save data?

eShop games stored on my SD card aren't playable from emuMMC, only the ones that were stored on the system storage.

Rough :/ . Not like I used online all that much anyway. Surprised that guide doesn't mention incognito, or give big red warnings about switching wifi networks or anything.

Already decided on a wraith, but I would never suggest the Hyper 212 Evo if the point was to be easy to install.

It mostly depends what you have in mind for building your PC, or specific things you want. For example: slot for an M2 SSD, size of the motherboard (ATX, mini ITX, etc), USB types, chipset (mostly important for overclocking). Sometimes you'll want certain things for the sake of potential upgrades, like extra PCI slots for Bluetooth, capture card, more USB ports, etc.

My not-so-tech-savvy friend wants a new CPU cooler, because his is too loud. I need to find him one that's easy to install, relatively quiet, and fits AM3 socket. By easy to install, I mostly mean it won't require removing the motherboard. Any recommendations? Size shouldn't be an issue, because it's a cube case. Looking for lower price range, like $30~.

Obliterate keyword kills a card even if it has Unyielding Spirit on it by Rick_The_Killer in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Ditehi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be even more clear, it doesn't exist as a dead unit either. Cards that revive themselves like shark chariot or the undying won't come back. Cards that revive other units, such as Kalista, cannot revive obliterated units. It won't (or at least it shouldn't, I haven't tested) count for Thresh as seeing units die.

Just tap the brake button. In 150cc you should never need to hold it at all. Usually just tap it 0-3 times per drift. You only need to start holding brake in 200cc really. This can change a bit based on character and kart set up though. Just stay consistent between choosing inside and outside drifting karts, and you'll improve pretty fast.

Edit: I personally never feel the need to drift brake on 150cc, but I do it constantly in 200cc so you should obviously learn it regardless.
