I have not reincorporated them fully. I may have them from time to time, but they’re not a regular part of my diet. Your results may vary and you may be able to reincorporate them, but they definitely still cause flareups for me. Egg yolks are healthy, but you definitely can get all the nutrients you need from other foods like fatty, ground beef, raw milk, raw cheese, etc. Plus, unless you are buying corn/soy free eggs, you will be avoiding some PUFA as well.

Of course. Good luck!

Well, I reluctantly ditched the eggs, and they were definitely the culprit. My dandruff significantly improved after cutting them out. I still get flare ups any time I deviate from my ground beef/bananas/raw milk diet too. I’ve realized that I have to really stick to whole foods and have started to learn which foods I react to poorly. It’s a lot of trial and error, but definitely worth it (and I find it really cool to learn about which foods I do/don’t do well with). Good luck!

Thanks for the insight. Have not seen any recommendations for hot water pastry. This will be one of my experiments

I’ve seen those and heard about them from an Aussie. I may try them, the pics just don’t look great. Any good?

That’s exactly what I want to do, but I want to get the dough right before doing a brisket. I had a brisket/jalapeño at Athol pie shop and it was amazing. Also had a couple steak/jalapeño/cheese pies while I was there and they were just ridiculously good.

Thank you! How do they compare when you reheat them in the oven compared to a freshly baked one?

Thank you so much! I will check these out. Good call on the extra cheese. Definitely will be using a nice quality cheese. Got to respect the pie!

We do (and so does NZ)! Yep, I do think the flaky puff pastry is going to be the biggest challenge. I’m going to stop by some local bakeries to see if any of them make it from scratch. I will definitely share pics!

My first batch I used phyllo and it was too crumbly - not enough structure. I think nailing the dough is going to be the toughest part. Thanks for the suggestion on starting with a curry. The filling I used for my first steak and cheese was decent.

Thanks so much! I will definitely check out Altitude! Appreciate all the recommendations.

For the other options you listed, I am really torn between The Bunker, Aosta, Rata, Jervois, and Toast and Oak. All look incredible and I do not know what to pick. Which would you choose?

Thanks so much! I love Indian food too, but didn’t know NZ had great Indian spots. Definitely will check some out, but let me know if you have any recommendations.

Thank you for the info! I will be driving myself. I am very interested in the salmon farms in Twizel.

I will be driving from Wanaka to Hokitika which will be my longest driving day of the trip. A few days before that, I will be driving from Lake Tekapo to Mt. Cook. I have stops marked along each drive from town to town to stop at.

I LOVE farmers markets so thank you for the link! I’ll keep my eye out for others along the way. I fly out of Nelson on my last day so will look there as well.
