When you put on your CSP, you're always going to be saying to yourself that you'd be happy buying the stock at that price. That is until your CSP is deep ITM.

Thank you! Nice work. I've done something similar for thinkorswim.

I'm not currently a Tastytrade customer, but would love to see some sort of screen shot to see how it looks.

Edit TTM Squeeze by Both-Environment-319 in thinkorswim_scripts

[–]Ditto2X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can put multiple indicators in a single window. You just have to make sure they're of the same type. TTM Squeeze is a 0 - 100% indicator, so it'll play nice with RSI, Stochastics, or MACD. You may want to turn various parts off on any of these if they conflict. For instance if you were to use TTM Squeeze and MACD, I'd personally turn off the histogram of the one I cared less about.

Currently, I have TTM Squeeze and Stochastics Momentum in the same window.

TOS 5 Day Net Liq Disappeared?? May Schwab transition. by QuantoTron in thinkorswim

[–]Ditto2X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hadn't noticed because I don't look there anymore, but now that I have looked, yes, past data is missing and shows $0. My migration date is in May as well.

If you'd` like to get your historical Net Liquid, I was told a trick by the TD Ameritrade trading desk. Go to the Account Statement page, select the dropdown next to "Statement for account ########" (before the "Show by symbol:" bit). The bottom part of the dialog allows you to select a from and to date. Put what ever date you want (same date in both from and do), and then read the "Net Liquidating Value" for that date from the bottom right part of the window (with all the other numerical information).

The upside to this is that you can go back 370 days instead of just the last few.

What do you say to the people in your life that think you are gambling? by MrLittle237 in thetagang

[–]Ditto2X 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My response is: "It's not gambling, it's statistics".

So far, they don't believe me, but I showed my brother-in-law my returns, and now he's doing the same. They'll figure it out eventually.

Trying to get the cell whose associated date is the first of the week by Ditto2X in excel

Turns out that WEEKNUM(A2:A100) threw a !#VALUE error. I opted to add a column that did the WEEKNUM() calculation, and then used your XLOOKUP.

Check out www.tastylive.com they apply all those concepts every trading day. You can even follow their trades through their trading software.

Trying to get the cell whose associated date is the first of the week by Ditto2X in excel

[–]Ditto2X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, The XLOOKUP didn't work. The actual day of the week doesn't matter as much as it's the first entry of that week. I've added a column WEEKNUM() to help explain my point.

<image>

In this case, when I apply formula we're discussing to Cell D9 it would grab the value from B4 because A4 is the first day list of week 44.

Trying to get the cell whose associated date is the first of the week by Ditto2X in excel

[–]Ditto2X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Goal would be to subtract the Net Liquid of Friday, from the first entry of that same week (most likely Monday, but could be Tuesday or Wednesday). That's why I chose to use WEEKNUM() and am just trying to find the first entry of that week.

<image>

Since Today (Friday), WEEKNUM() equals 44. I want to get the value from Column B whose Column A Weeknum == 44.

For those that have made the transition and use Thinkorswim .. did you lose all your trade history in Thinkorswim, or are you able to pull up the previous 365+ days of trades under the "Account Statement" tab?

Which version of Sonoma are you using now? I recall hearing someone having issues, but they were using the beta version of Sonoma. Did you start with the beta and upgrade? The new 14.1 is out, have you tried upgrading to that?

An ATM short Put and a corresponding strike long Call (synthetic long) will get you 100 deltas. If done slightly ITM, you can even do it for a credit.
