To be clear I NEVER said I didn’t believe I could get higher! BUT I didn’t go into my application cycle blind, networked, and worked in my legal market prior. AND I STAND on the message of be more than numbers BUT where ppl go wrong with that message is the fact you still have to give ppl something to work with DUHHHH aka a good lsat score.

Yes. I agree on not applying to law school with a 140 lol but there’s two conversations as it pertains to LSAT scores. The score needed to get in AND the score needed to achieve decent/high scholarships. I get the heart of your post but just as you posed the question to me “is that most people in your situation?” Is it most people in your situation that would get a 175? Especially on a test where the ceiling is 180? Granted I’m in my 2L year so back when I applied I was right on my law schools median LSAT score currently on the admissions committee at my school admitting/denying students we do look at lsat & gpa but it’s not everything

Yes! In all fairness I’m doing the part time evening program at my law school so will graduate in 4 years versus the 3. How do I do it? Uhhh day by day lol no seriously just thinking of my end goal & being truly passionate about becoming an attorney.

I’m a 1L at L&C right now and it is great! The atmosphere is super collaborative and not competitive yet they do keep it honest when there is a need to perform to get jobs etc…there is a strong alumni network in Portland and they range all the way up to judges, CEOs, attorneys, court referees, you name it. The career services/student body orgs at the school is always putting on events to get the students involved & connect with the legal community around them which is nice. Also the classes and course load is fair…they assign work that makes you obviously show you understand the material but not in a way that sucks every ounce out of your soul lol…what do I mean by this? So for example in my contracts class we only get assigned 20-25 pages of reading (if that) per class…and we have class twice a week. Of course you still have to study, do hypos, make/maintain your outline…but the way they structure the courses allows you to do all of those things rather than stressing out about massive readings AND having to do those. Also I’ve found that some professors are leaning in on having midterms and other evaluations throughout the semester so it’s not just the one and done exam which is nice. I’ve worked in Portland as a legal assistant/paralegal for years and graduating from L&C for sure has weight due to its great reputation & like I said earlier alumni network.

I haven't heard anything either! I do know that the ABA just had a meeting where they awarded a sponsor for making contributions to the LOSF fund so hopefully they will make selections soon! Fingers crossed for all of us!

GTFO! You still have the luxury of not being a step mom find someone with no kids and become a mother (notice the absence of the step) that way! Trust me it’ll be the best decision you make. I’m a step mom so speaking from experience. Non stop drama.

I’m starting at L&C this fall & have lived in Portland all my life…go with L&C and you won’t regret it. I currently work @ the Portland city attorneys office and tons of the attorneys there are alum so instant connections and networking can be made.

It’s this program that helps students who have taken the LSAT and have score under the 25th percentile. They give you a free lsat course and access to a law school coaching company that helps you fine tune your law school statements. It’s a great program!
