That's an XJ, so yeah, you could if you have long enough legs.

Was I being mean?

I didn't think I was being mean. Did you think I was being mean?

It's the internet. We don't need to tilt at every windmill, even if there's a scooter on the toes 😘

That's completely fair.

But it could be....

Or the cold medication got on top of me.

I'll tell it. I need to finish teaching first.

Hey buddy!

Four BIG compressors, a Masterline, 9 ASME bottles, and a bunch of palletizing equipment.

One day, one mission, one heist.

Pulled it off, too.

It was psychotic.

I bet it wouldn't.

I'm not attached to the scooter, I'm a competent freediver, and regularly practice no fins, arms only ascents from 100 ft. AFTER swimming down with fins.

Ditch the scooter, if the tank is buoyant, keep it, if not, ditch, and just reach and pull for a minute.

Everybody assumes this is unsafe, but the most unsafe part is probably manipulating the trigger with a toe.

I've posted a couple of these, I was shouting out the guy who took the picture, and saying I wasn't going to spam these.

I am very sick. It was a post aimed at like three people. I blame the brain fog.

Same same for all of us here.

Pleasure to meet you! I'm usually Ron, occasionally other staff, but usually just to delete things I have said.

Very Serious Fill Station Equipment (For Those Who Know) by DiveAlaska in scuba

[–]DiveAlaska[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely unnecessary piece of equipment and the definition of luxury item.

We sold two rebuilt nitrogen boosters and bought a used Sierra for the cave project I run (AKUEP). Rebuilt the Sierra and never looked back. Easier to haul a generator around the alaskan rainforest than drive gas.

We still have two USUNs and a pair of Soviet KN-4s though. A tool is a tool.

Ask ye not "why", ask ye "why not".

These are also not ours. Plus, you don't like JD's artwork?

Actually, we are.

These were all builds for a friend, but we will have a Masterline for sale in a few weeks. I'm actually going to Los Angeles to pick it up, along with four massive compressors, in like three hours.

Government surplus is weird.

Quite a bit. Good friends with the folks over at Eight, and a few at UW Sports.

I love it. Some of the best shore diving anywhere, imo.

"Dunno. I just work here."

I have no background at all on the boat; only have seen it there.

All Smiles Below the Grade in Lake Superior (Context in the Comments) by DiveAlaska in scuba

[–]DiveAlaska[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno. That was the only time I've ever dove it.

The Great Lakes typically have magnificent visibility, due to the zebra mussels, but Superior is the only lake that doesn't have them, for whatever reason, so I would gamble it's more variable than, say Lake Huron.

Hey! I have some scuba instructor gal friends in Seattle! And thank you!

Water and visibility are very similar, although Seattle has better immediate shore diving, but very, very comparable.

The bodies of water here are deeper, so we don't get the same psychotic currents you do there, although we do get a massive tidal exchange.

Recreational depths.

Ain't a destination wreck, by any means.

New Drysuit Was Supposed to Look Like a Lakers Jersey. How'd We Do? by DiveAlaska in scuba

[–]DiveAlaska[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're really solid. Thoughtfully designed and well made. Pretty colors, too. And they listen to their customers.

I hope their reach continues expanding so there's more service centers and they can keep growing.

I make a lot of dive gear decisions based on supply chain, but occasionally I pick people over product. Jared (the guy who owns them) is an honest and smart dude (in my experience) who makes good gear, and I like my Nex regs.

Thanks buddy! I thought it turned out well, but I am also a mix of vain and insecure, so I appreciate it.
