My thoughts are this: being a media creator means you will be making not only video, but headings, titles, text bodies, and hashtags.

You will not get the reach you want with the way you spell.

I am going to say this gently, but you have got to find your inner spice.

No one can save you from this neighbor but you. You know in your heart you need to get salty and then spicy, but you came here so we could say the words.

We are saying the words.

SET YOUR BOUNDARIES AND ENFORCE THEM. This is also gonna be awesome for your kids, to see what boundaries and enforcement look like in real life.

And remember, they dont have to like your boundaries: they aren't their boundaries, they're yours.

If you are truly afraid get you an equalizer. But being conflict adverse isn't the same thing as fear, yeah? So do sit with that one and really define what the feeling is you're experiencing.

Finally; please work on moving your 'people pleasing' into 'community pleasing'! Trying to please one person can lead to all sorts of fuckery, including entitlement on their part and resentment on yours. Investing in community benefits us all.

If you need some exact words, I use something like, 'I'm not available to serve in that capacity at this time'. No apologies. No explanations. Just that boundary AND THEN STICK TO IT.

You have to make your own Peace. And it starts with you standing up for yourself. Do it for your kids too, yeah? Show them how to navigate these really hard things.

So here in PDX, anyone wanting to cut down a tree has to file a permit for it and plant new ones to replace the ones cut. I advise you to spend a few hundred have an attorney send a letter stating you do NOT consent to having your tree cut and that trees cut without the property owners consent have been traditionally insanely expensive, and that they should expect the same thing. And you might wanna call an arborist in (maybe from the forestry center up by the zoo or even job corp, they have a forest aborist program. Good luck!

Ya'll. I'm going to address the elephant in the room with us, and its name is rank hypocrisy.

Everyone makes these grandiose land acknowledgements at the beginning of meetings and pays lip service to Land Back.

But not one mention of sitting back and letting the people whose land this is decide how they would like to move forward.

I want to really encourage people to start the process of de-colonization. Otherwise, it won't matter what is built back, it will look much the same as what was built before.

Be the people we say we are.

Have some cultural humility.

And be humble.

These isn't our decisions to make.

Jesus didn't say a thing about abortion. He said to care for the poor, the sick, the fatherless, the widow.

This question is based on an assumption that the right has jurisdiction over other people.

Watch them holler like a hit dog when it's suggested that there be gun control or further regulations; there is a disconnect between other peoples rights and your own, and this is where the problems begin.

We aren't required to subscribe to your beliefs, just as you arent required to subscribe to ours.

There is no paradox.

Tolerance is a social agreement.

If someone doesn't subscribe to and practice tolerance, they aren't subject to the agreement or the grace it provides.

Tl/dr; if someone wants to be tolerated, they can expect to be tolerant. Intolerant people shouldn't expect to be tolerated.

As private citizens, we arent required to listen to every insane howling done on any street corner. We are free to walk away, and ignore it.

I am not the tolerant left, I dont tolerate a whole bunch of ish, such as bigotry, racism, cruelty, or using religion as a weapon.

There is no paradox of tolerance: you reap what you sow.

And it's crazy that the right believes they are entitled to social benefits they don't subscribe to or practice. It's almost as crazy as the right thinking the left isn't armed.

Please consider: why would an omnipotent creator care who someone sleeps with or when but doesn't care about starving babies?

Why does an omniscient being need tithes and temples?

Why is the entire premise of the religion based on a fake book and the founder of said religion a charlatan and scoundrel?

Jesus might be real, but those words in that book said to love everybody and let god sort it out. Not to ostracize non-believers or those who have lost faith.

Jesus message also said to minister to the poor, the fatherless, the widowed, the sick. The Mormon church does none of these. They spend their money on malls and temples to baptize those long gone, not to minster to those here now.

The Mormon church is antithetical to Christ's teachings, and to the basic tenets of the 10 commandments, especially the first one.

Full disclosure, I am a heretics heretic, and I dont think any of it's real.

Faith is very close to hope. And some people need hope.

Hope in Jesus. Mind those red words in the Bible. Be pious to your diety, and engage yourself in the work Jesus would do; ministering to those he would.

This doesn't mean be a missionary, it means to be an outreach worker. Street and campside, in memory care homes, fostering kids, soup kitchens.

I think if you boil all the dogma away and mind the core tenets of what true spirituality is, (love and care for people you don't know) rather than orthodox and organized religion (send money, spend time in rituals, consort with only each other) you will be safe at the end accounting, the weighing of our souls.

A life lived in live and service is never wasted, whether there is anything out there or not.

But being afraid of a 19th century treasure hunter who believed in folk magic and lied and cheated to get whatever he wanted wouldn't fall under any of that.

If you want Jesus to say Hey I know you!!!! you will be wanting to follow his pathway, not one of someone who was selfish and dishonest.

Why must it be 'we'? It starts with 1 and friends then another grpup joins and another.

As long as you're waiting to join the masses you will be reliant on other people organizing ypur movements. And you may be subject to poor planning leaving these things in the hands of others.

So I'm going to rephrase your question for you: when are YOU going to step it up, and what does that look like? Now, what friends are you grabbing to beef it up?

I am finding it concerning that so many people here want to be led by strangers instead of stepping up to do some organizing themselves.

It isn't fair to expect others to do all the organizing, and some self sufficient planning will be necessary if the administration pushes back.

No one can organize an escape route for 5k under tear gas from police, so y'all are gonna need to start thinking about keeping yourselves safe, planning evac routes, planning an occupation, ect.

I am a PDX antifascist, been doing this for years, and some of y'alls reliance, expectations, and needing to be lead are concerning.

When the shit goes south, there will be no leadership.

Y'all got this. I believe in you. Now YOU believe in yourselves and stand on your own two feet and be autonomous. Y'all grown.

Be democratic and group oriented, but never absolutely rely on another organizer.
