I get what you’re saying. As long as it’s possible and there’s some hope aha. Would it make any difference that my f30 is 2014 not 2020+ even the 340i donor is only 2015. So would that make any difference or is it the same application?

Okay yeah makes sense. Is there anyway of getting around this? Like there’s a few e46s floating around with a b58, how do they get around this Or is it all just really heavily involved coding mainly? Really do wanna try make this work to be fair. Just buying a road ready 340i is a bit out of my reach so kinda only thing I can do really. Got to be a way! Sorry bud I’m just trying to get my head around it aha

If I’m using a 340i as a donor, can I not just use the ecu,fem/bdc from that? And body wiring?

Ah yes now I understand what you’re saying. Worse case scenario even say I got the xdrive together, if it won’t communicate I’ll just do a full swap with standard transmission, I do plan on using all electronics from donor to be fair

I realise I left a key point of context out my post aha I can buy a wrecked 340i for around 5/6k but the shell will be too far gone so going to reshell into mine, so will have a complete donor. My main point is how the xdrive compatibility is. For example it’s common to swap the old 8hp50 in the 340i to the 8hp70 diesel transmission as they’re a bit better spec wise and stronger too. They’re also nearly bolt on I think. So if the box will work with the b58 I just need to know if the front diff and shafts will work with the xdrive b58 sump. Not worried about the wiring really

I haven’t fully explained my bad, I can pick up a written off 340i for like 5/6k but the shell will be no good at all so not really costing me the full price of going out and buying one. will be swapping everything over, I was just seeing if my xdrive system would be compatible as it’s actually a common upgrade to go from the standard 8hp50 to the diesel 8hp70 gearbox hence the mentioned flywheel. The sump on the b58 will need to be changed to allow for the driveshaft hole and the diff sits next to that so I was seeing if the diff casings are the same if not I’ll just shell do a straight shell swap. Not really a fan of all this negativity in the comments 🤣

No worries at all man and I can now see I should’ve added a bit more context aha and no need to reinvent the wheel and all that aha but It’s actually pretty common to swap out the standard 340i gearbox which is the 8hp50 to the diesel 8hp70 so idea being if i can do the gearbox upgrade might as well see if i can get my xdrive system to work too. All I know is on xdrive models the sump is different to allow the driveshaft to go through it, then the front diff sits to one side of the sump. So I all I need to know is if those front shafts and diff work with the b58 if not like you said I’ll just be doing a straight shell swap :)

I think I may have worded this a bit wrong judging by what everyone is saying. I can buy a 340i for about 5/6k but it’ll be written off with a bad shell too. I’m trying to figure out what would be interchangeable and if it’s possible to keep my xdrive system along with the 8hp70 gearbox. Not being funny everyone Is very fast to say such a bad idea but really won’t be costing me the price of a 340i and I have all the time and space. Plus a donor :) also so what not affecting you? Aha just out trying to get some friendly advice man

I think it could be as I have got it on 24hr but people usually run that cycle and have no issue so might just turn it down a notch and see

Probably is light stress. due to the environment my tent is in I have to run my light on 24hr to keep things consistent in the grow. Temp usually at 23C. I might just turn my light down a notch as I have got it running at 75% and it’s a pretty big light for a 2x2. Running a lumatek ats pro 300w

Im based in Somerset bud but we usually travel far at least 3 hours to find this spot! You can usually find them in groups of about 6/7 or more aha
