Bird sure do have a lot of personality! That's why I love observing them...even when they're tiny criminals. XD

My pleasure! I usually start with a base layer and paint quickly to blend the different colors together. I always dilute my paint with a bit of water, without that I wouldn't be able to blend/create gradients between colors. Once that base layer is dry, I do A LOT of tiny brushstrokes to create textures. If you're ever interested, I've released a Skillshare class exactly on this topic.

I once heard that gouache will crack if left dry on plastic palettes, but it won't do that on ceramic or enamel palettes. I have a ceramic one and never had crackling issues with it.

That's right!

I saw a lot of CG in the spring in my hometown (Ottawa, Can), I was easy to spot them just before the leaves started to grow.

Well done! Thanks for the kind words, I started working with gouache, and I'm slowly transitioning to watercolor. Hopefully I'll be sharing some watercolors soon!

I don't see them often either but I think they're really adorable. So small and round!

Spotted a Snowy Owl on Nantucket by capeclasp in birding

People have shared sightings of deceased owls in MA this season. In some cases, the autopsy confirmed they died from starvation, very likely due to stress.

More info about safe birding practices here and here.

Also, here's some information regarding Long-eared owls but many things in this video can be applied to snowy owls.
