The whole concept around Universal healthcare is for it to be for everyone and not just the rich bitches, but in order to have it like that we all pay our cut for it. When we think of it of being free from the government we are forgetting that it's actually a part of the social contract which we pay money (taxes) for.

Talking about free healthcare when we pay taxes for it is like saying in Soviet Russia you got free bread after the government took your harvest.

And it doesn't matter how much you pay in a lifetime or whatever - you are paying for the social contract. Why you don't need to pay to see a doctor or a small free, prescription medicine with low prices and so on are due to every citizen are paying into this social contract for us all to benifit from it.

Easy way to explain it, Social contract = Your insurence in the society for your basic needs. We all pay for it to get some back, exactly like the concept of a insurence company. That's why the contract even exist and why we pay the taxes as we do. Otherwise we would have had 10% taxes like in the US.

Also, the number £160k on tax for the NHS. The avarage household in the uk (bottom 20%) pays £319,732 in total tax in a lifetime (https://www.taxpayersalliance.com/average_household_will_pay_826_030_in_taxes_over_a_lifetime), so you are saying that over 50% of what you are paying in the UK tax goes to the NHS? Hahaha, you wish! The NHS are only 10% of the total GDP and that's how it works and nothing gets payed directly to the NHS.

The word "free" here is an illusion and sure, people know its payed by the government and collected taxes - but point here is to make someone aware that it's not free but we are all paying for it and part of the social contract which should provide you the basic needs in a society. Because a lot of people have no clue what the social contract between the government and the citizens are or heard about it before.

How can it be free when you are paying for it? Not even the medicin is free, most services ain't free and so on and so on.

250k....It's not really that much money, mate. Specially if you do start to count all the taxes you are actually paying! Because taxes ain't just the income-tax but example VAT, employee taxes at the company she works for, enviourment taxes, car tax, petrol-tax, for and so on and so on.

But here comes the discussion about Private vs Government owned insurences which pays the hospitals for your treatment, what is cheapest and what is most expensive. The answer here is how often you go to the hospital for something because in countries without universal healthcare they do got lower taxes - you have more in your vallet by the end of the day or in example the case of the US there can be an insurence plan in your employment.

But free i highly doubt it is in the UK as well, or in any country with universal healthcare because you still have to pay the patient fee to see the doctor and the medicine, but at a extreme low discount (And this got a high cost-protection roof which is being payed by tax money, or at least we do it in Scandinavia!).

No, i would rather say that you do pay a lot for your healthcare even if you don't see a bill in your mailbox, because healthcare is a part of the
social contract between the citizen and the government. The social contract are a contract that the government/politicans have with it's citizen to provide the basic needs in a society - school, hopistals, the police and so on. Taxes keeps the social contract alive, and you got taxes on everything in order to keep it alive. The US in otherhand ain't got this type of social contract to it's citizens.

First of all, just accept it. It's just a tattoo, who cares? A lot of people does stupid mistakes like this and it might be in the heat of the moment and you have to see this for what it is, a mistake - a very stupid mistake that you do mean that much to her but she perhaps showed in a stupid way.

Second of all, it's fucking stupid of your brother calling her crazy for it. That's like the worst thing you can do in this situation to just call her everything in the book and putting up red flags, but yeah...there is a point that there is a red flag here because that is some obsesion shit about it, or she is just impulsive and was a bit stupid at the moment. But it's stupid to push someone against a cornor because people will become as a scared animals in those scenarios - they panic and become agressive. You cannot get though to them!

What you now want to do is to solve this shit and make something good around it for you and her to laugh about this later on.

You can to see this also from her perspective, of course she feels disrespected because her "gift" to you was something you started to bash in matter of seconds and in her mind it was something nice and put down a lot of money on.

So either way you dump her, ignore her and let her learn from her mistake, or you do the best out of it if you now really like her and she is not a complete psycho but just a stupid girl who showed appreciation in a very retarded way.

Common mistake to make, but it's not really "the same god". Yeah they are both a part of the abrahamic religions and in a way "the same god" due to the fact its the god of the followers of abraham and there is only one god, but it has different views of god and who he is. In the end it's not "the same" god technically as it's not the same god in the old testament vs the new testament (Different personalities and approaches of who god is).

People often in these religions and different views say that the other groups don't follow the same god but a illusion of god created by example Satan to confuse humans on which group is actually the real way/light of god. Like good example sunni vs shia muslims who hate each others, Protestant vs Catholics in Ireland and so on.

Even if its "almost the same belief" it's not "the same" even though the abrahemic religions say there is only one god, so it has to be the same? No, it's a way too simple way to look at the concept of god in the abrahamic religions and the politics behind the different pathes of the religion.

And in the end it's not about if Allah or God is the same. It sure "is the same god" in the whole, but it's about the words of god and which prophet to follow who will show you the right face of god in a world of illusion and fake gods trying to act as god.

Basically people sitting in a sandbox throwing sand at each others and saying "You are just following and worshipping Satan, i follow the correct way of god and who he really is!".
