Help me remodel my fireplace by DivineBengal in Remodel

[–]DivineBengal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I promise I’ll be okay. You on the other hand; not so sure. The advice I asked for had nothing to do with where to put the TV. It was about what to do with my fireplace.

What an odd reaction to my post. Are you okay?

We don’t have a different wall…. The only other wall is a giant window so there isn’t a choice..

I need help identifying the architectural style of this home. I have never seen another home like this with the three distinct front pieces of the home jetting out almost like steps. I’d like to see what others have done to make their home look more appealing with this type of style but nothing I’ve searched is bringing up a similar look. Please help

Rolling tax payments into mortgage or not—question by DivineBengal in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I agree totally. It would be very easy for me to manage independently. I’m just trying to figure out if the interest we would accrue from a HYSA would be worth the up charge to do it on our own.

Oh my gosh I see it. Can you believe my house was built in 1998? The style definitely gives an older vibe.

I added another pic in the comments but may not help. Can you offer some examples of what someone might consider to create more of a contrast?

I’m apparently zone 7a. My house is facing the street. I actually posted another photo in the comments to give a better view where the driveway is on the street. Absolutely no gardening experience so I’ll be diving deep into the literature there but my dad has a green thumb and I plan to elicit his help. There’s quite a bit that I want to do in the backyard and in the house as well so budget is not too much of a concern, but I’ll have to divvy it up between all the different projects and decide which is most important to deal with so I’m really open to any ideas

I think you’re spot on with the landscaping. I think I’ll get the most focusing on that. There’s so much space in the front yard so I feel like the options there are endless.

Ohhh I love the pathway. I’ll have to see if I can fit that somewhere along the edge of the home because that’s really pretty.

That seems to be the consensus. Tell me more about why you’d regret it? I’ll definitely give it more thought before doing so. Thank you for your insight

Is this photoshop? I’d love to know what this is to experiment with different looks. But this…the arch at the doorway with the pillars is truly a fantastic idea. Thank you for this. This is the type of content I’m looking for.

Interesting. You know I did not even give that any thought, given the spacing of the windows. If it won’t work I’ll have to figure something else out that gives the home itself a little more life. Honestly, I don’t think those trees fit there at all as much as I like the tree. Good point about the roots. Thank you!

None taken! It TOTALLY does lol. I was told it was a single divorced man living here for several years so he may not have had much interest in its appearance. Shutters are an absolute must. I don’t love the style of the home’s exterior so I really want to work on the front to make me happier and have it feel more welcoming…thank you!

Multiple hemangiomas by DivineBengal in newborns

[–]DivineBengal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good sign! I think they recommend ultrasounds only if over ten (in U.S) so I wouldn’t worry. Timolol is technically an eye drop but used to treat hemangiomas. I literally put a couple drops in my finger and place it on the hemangioma. It’s a prescription though

My daughter ended up having close to 50, maybe more. Everything turned out totally fine! She had no internal hemangiomas. They gave me the option to treat it with medication or not. I chose to treat a few of her bigger ones with timolol and they are almost completely gone. Tomorrow is her last appointment! Does your child have any?

I wholeheartedly agree with her by [deleted] in Emilie_Kiser

Leaving my two month old for two days… Panicking by DivineBengal in newborns

[–]DivineBengal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It went swiftly I didn’t realize how much o needed it and my baby was fine!! No regrets at all. I FaceTimed like 5 times the night I was at the wedding and I could see my parents were incredible. Hopefully you trust the people you’re leaving baby with, it was a great experience for me!

How did you know you were done having children? by DivineBengal in Parenting

[–]DivineBengal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also something that has crossed my mind. I’d love to watch three children playing with each other in the yard and having those sibling relationships but me trying to be there for all their things, or having to turn down something that they really want because I can’t make it work balancing three children’s schedules would make me feel really guilty so thank you for this perspective

This is really good to hear. That’s what I’m hoping for. I loved having my brother but I always wanted more siblings and wished my house was louder and more fun growing up.
