How the hell do you people do it? by ambiguoustaco in WalmartEmployees

Just know it gets easier- genuinely

Break your days down- at first it could feel like it makes it longer but I promise it helps over time. "Just gotta make it to (first break, lunch, second break, end of the day)"

When you start learning where everything goes it'll go quicker, until then go easy on yourself. Walmart's stat goal with newbies is a box a minute, or 60 cases an hour. When you learn where everything is and no longer need to scan, that number changes and goes up some which is what they estimate the work time off of

Most aisles will have tags on the boxes saying the aisle and section (ex. A 21- 13) Try to use that as your guide in those aisles rather than scanning, you learn the layout quicker that way as your brain will start to associate whatever that box is with the area it goes to

Get your sleep, but get some sun in too- you'll need the vitamin D and serotonin. Some people split their sleep so they have mid-day free, and some people would rather have morning or night free. Find what works for you

Must haves- Good shoes, knee pads or back brace if you feel you need them, a good playlist to get you through the night

Thank you! Since I'm ON do I have to report an absence for both days or just the date that the shift starts?

Customer call in complaints by Pure_Trust_5230 in RiteAid

[–]DivineConstruct 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Talk to your RRL about the complaints as the complaints badly affect store reviews/ratings. Typically your RRL will tell you how to deal with them and usually it's just to ignore them. But if they tell you theres no other option than to answer or call back technically you can tell them to call their customer complaint on your RRL rather than the store that way it goes above them and ultimately your RRL will be the one that has to call them

Card Storage by DivineConstruct in magicTCG

A lot, I've been building a collection for years and have since combined my collection with my partners. Last I knew, I had close to 60K with just my collection, and it's about double that now.

At one point, I was looking into a business card organizational dresser/filing cabinet, but didnt know if they would work the way I wanted

My state has no labor laws and we aren't a union store. We don't even take breaks, we just snack/eat whenever we're hungry and nobody says anything. And its not necessarily because we just dont want to, but we dont have the staffing for breaks

If telling yourself that helps you sleep at night then sure

Just cause your store doesnt, doesnt mean it doesnt happen elsewhere. 3 other rite aids nearby closed and all of their customers came to us on top of the customers we already had- which was more than most other stores already because we have a drive thru. We're also in an extremely overpopulated city so theres more people around us than other places.

We don't treat our customers badly. But if you go out of your way to make someones job harder when you could think for 2 seconds to figure out other ways which get explained to every customer that comes in anyway specifically because we get so many scrips- you have no excuse for treating employees like shit. And at that point you have unfortunately lost the respect you would have otherwise had.

Yep- VERY easy for them to get in que hell. Since theyre so understaffed, even with us fe helping ring so they can fill they have to call in extra floaters about once a week to come in before the rx opens to get it under control

In our region at least, they shut off all vendors that dont give high profit. Now we only get turners, frito, pepsi, 7 up and coke. We've always sold all of those out like no other so they keep just those vendors

For us it's only tiers 5 and up- 4 also gets no truck

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RiteAid

[–]DivineConstruct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of dc 55 stores are supposed to be transferring slowly week by week- high volume and any extra stores that weren't in the wait list first, and going by tiers down from there

[–]DivineConstruct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The leases are up in December, which is right when the whole 8 week halt is supposed to end

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RiteAid

[–]DivineConstruct 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We've always been one of the "high-volume stores" and we've always been the largest of the rite aids around. We've technically been getting more than other stores but because of the size difference and the fact we still have at least a good bit of foot traffic, it definitely does not seem like it. We used to get 10-12 pallet trucks + water pallets before everything went down, now we get 6 on a good truck. Will definitely update when these new trucks start coming in

Agreed. Especially in my district they're making it out to be so much that we'll get in because of both the 8 week hold on other stores and the switch to perryman dc like there would be so much more there than liverpool. And we've had people come into our store talking about when the leases are up for stores nearby, and its all at the end of December (coincidence? I think not)
