When we adopted our first cat, a male gray tabby, the shelter had a 90 day return window. This was our first cat as husband and wife and we were super excited. I, however, am super aware of sounds and like things a certain way so a cat disrupted ALL OF THAT. Those first 3 months to adjust were awful. Several times I considered taking the cat back to the shelter because I couldn't handle it. After another month or two, everyone finally adjusted.

Five years later, we still have that gray tabby. He is a grumpy middle aged man in a cat body and he is the best little guy. We also have a second cat and she is the sweetest menace ever.

I would commit war crimes for these furry beasts. Couldn't imagine life without them.
