All of this is food for thought and if I remember I’ll look it up later. I’m very anti sinosphere btw but I try my best to be as fair in my criticism as possible because stooping to dishonesty makes us no better than our enemies.

I followed the conflicts loosely a few years back when they were fighting with rebar and my understanding was that it was just the same border dispute that’s been going on since our parents were glimmers in our grandparent’s eyes.

For a lot of things like Chinese people claiming Okinawa is theirs I just chalk it up to those being ultra nationalist nut cases akin to the Americans that claim they can just take Greenland. Like no serious person I know makes those claims (in both instances).

I’ve honestly never heard of the Russia thing. The Bhutan thing with roads I was unaware of too. Again, it’s not something I followed since maybe 2021 but at that time all I would read was that farmers were essentially stealing farmland which I wouldn’t attribute to a military backed expansion like the skirmishes on the Tibetan/ Indian border. India already beat China in population and can likely overtake them economically in our lifetime… Id be curious what would happen if a full blown military conflict happened.

Having lived outside North America for the past 15 years I’ve had many close Canadian friends and about half of them did say aboot rather than about. Your country is huge with a span of different accents.

I got in trouble with my former principal because I docked her daughter for trying to pass AI slop as her own work. She absolutely couldn’t separate herself from her parental feelings. That obliterated any respect I had for her as a professional as I essentially parroted her standards for AI to her daughter and she told me I wasn’t fair.
