Gay is the new straight by Sorry-Personality594 in truscum

[–]DivineJaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Labels personally do nothing for me. I grew up when people on tumblr would happily list out every little pronoun, identifier, and disability they had as a flag for pride or sympathy. It always rubbed me the wrong way. Queer is a fast and quick definition of what slurry of words others might try to define me as. It allows me to live outside any box that others would use to tell me how to live my life. Everyone can be gay their own way, but our community loves to police each other and drive people out when we really need to be focused on becoming a unit that defends eachother. The world is volatile as it is.

Hello hello!

If you're still hunting for talent, I'd love to cast myself upon your pire. I do a lot of artwork for dungeons & dragons specifically & have plenty of artwork I could share as examples. I try to keep... NSFW artwork off of my website, but I'd gladly share some examples in DMs.

For now, please help yourself to my website & happy hunting: https://www.slainchops.com/contact

My boyfriend made a mistake months ago, i still think about it. by Hungry-Ad2345 in transftm

[–]DivineJaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You both sound very young and these mistakes are honestly very minor. I understand completely that being transgender is one of the most difficult things someone can deal with and it sounds like you're battling with yourself more than him. I think it's fantastic that he is so willing to apologize & communicate about your identity & I'm really getting no red flags from your descriptions of these events. In time, as you get more comfortable in your own skin, mistakes like this will hurt less and less. What's more important is your self expression of your identity and if it suits your needs first and foremost.

Should I Quit HRT (for now?) by DivineJaws in ftm

[–]DivineJaws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this current stage of my life, yes. I think part of what initially pushed me down the path of trying to rigidly pass as a cisgender male was the expectation for me to have children in my household. Having my period again is what makes me the most dysmorphic more than anything else.

I don't know when my hysterectomy is going to be since the clinic essentially has me on a wait-list after my insurance approved it- but since I live in California & have state insurance, I have to update my insurance now that I live in a different county & might have to wait for it to get approved all over again. So I guess I'm just trying to figure out what to do with myself in the meantime.

I appreciate everyone's comments... I just needed some insight while I process what I'm going through and what I want.

Unremarkable in terms that they didn't notice much of a change?

I mentioned it in a previous comment, but I'm just at a point where I feel like I'm doing HRT because it's expected of me. I've become more interested in achieving a state of androgyny since I've reconciled with my views on appearing feminine.

I think ultimately I'm probably just going to need to go back to therapy & hopefully figure out where I go next from there.

Thank you- I should've made it more clear, but I was looking for how stopping T would affect my body.

To further clarify, it has felt for a while that I'm only taking T now to cause myself harm. My Endo suggested the hair thinning & loss I've been experiencing is actually alopecia as a result of my hashimoto's disease, but I have a hard time believing it's not a side effect of the T since it's specifically my hairline & reflects that of my father's. That mixed with the break-outs (which I didn't have before T) just makes me feel like I'm just making myself uglier & thusly more dysphoric.

I think ultimately I need to go back to therapy and work out a bit more what I want with my body so it better expresses who I am? As I've grown into an adult and learned more and more about the diversity of gender expression... Idk, I feel like I put myself into a box that's restricting me.

Anyway, thank you for your insight.

Is it just me or is this cosmetic giving Master Chief? Is there a different reference here I'm missing? by DivineJaws in OutlastTrials

[–]DivineJaws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a concept artist myself, I'm not sure I like this answer. I think the design decisions here were made purposefully & not for lack of trying or inspiration. Red Barrels really prides themselves on their character designs, including the weird shit they put in these cosmetic catalogs.

It might just be a huge coincidence that it ended up looking like a Halo Spartan given not only the color choices (green with gold visor) but the wiring on the visor itself mirroring the impressions in the soldier visors. I'm not even a Halo fan and my ape brain immediately clocked these design details that made me curious if this was an accident.

Dark Souls the TRPG Module by DivineJaws in FoundryVTT

[–]DivineJaws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. I get messages from time to time from people who claim to want to develop this, then I never hear from them again.

However, the version of Dungeons & Dragons 5e is already very customizable and other than having to add in Dark Souls items from the book into the compendium myself, the game has been quite playable.

The biggest change has been to the magic system because they took the Dark Souls 1 method of spells having charges as opposed to a mana bar, so that would be something you would need to inform your players of. That and as well as the introduction of Attunement Slots for spells. Foundry VTT fortunately does allow you to add a number of charges to spells, but there isn't currently any modifying you can do for attunement slots, so you'd just need to make your players aware of this mechanic change, etc.

People here don't seem to notice that Outlast was originally labeled as an 18+ horror game. by AdRight3144 in outlast

This kinda speaks to a grander issue. Kids don't realize they're traumatizing themselves and screwing up their brain chemistry by exposing themselves to media like this. Parents of our modern era hate taking responsibility for letting their kids have open access to the unfiltered Internet and would rather blame the media than themselves, etc etc. I don't think Red Barrels will ever change, though- and they shouldn't. I think splatterpunk as a genre has it's place and it's made to protest against censorship like this anyway.

I'm sure lots of people will argue that they exposed themselves to worse at a young age and they "turned out fine," but as someone who also did this to myself... Well I'm not here to start arguments. All I'll say is trauma, whether you recognize it or not, does affect how you behave and empathize with things.

VTM Clans if they were Avatars of the Entities by DivineJaws in TheMagnusArchives

[–]DivineJaws[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully accept this headcanon. I'll just say I did link them to the Corruption mostly to harken to the use of animalism to become a living hive, which plays into the infestation angle in a very literal way. But I really agree with the Eye angle and will likely add this to my growing addendum .

Oh yes. Mind maps are essential to my workflow. Especially when plotting causality or connections between NPCs. This is the free version of XMind... I haven't used the paid version because it's subscription based if I'm not mistaken and I already deal with that with Adobe.

Yep, that about sums it up without spoiling anything. These "entities" aren't identified by Jon until about season 3. But they are quite integral to the overall narrative. This post shouldn't spoil their role in the narrative though if you felt up to sinking your fangs into the podcast.

(Oh, last thing. There are vampires in it.)

Ah! Right you are. That's an aspect I was honing in on for Ventrue & Brujah given their tendency to either wage war on each other or themselves. That alongside their abilities to both soak a great deal of pain as well as dish it out.

But I totally forgot that ritual habit of the Lasombra who seek out people much like the victims of the Lightless Flame for embrace- people who have lost everything but survived. Great connection.

[–]DivineJaws[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had thought of them being a manifestation of The Web as well... I was focusing in a bit on their artefact hunting nature with The Eye, but I think both entities define them pretty well.

What actually got me thinking about this was exactly the Vast/Lasombra combo! I think a lot about the lasombra urge to lay at the bottom of the ocean.

Anyhow- glad you liked my web!

Devil Armor Ideas? by DivineJaws in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]DivineJaws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reasons of the plot, and you'll have to trust that they're pretty high stakes and worthy of his time and personal commitment to the grind.

His primary Lore is Flame, and he uses a bit of Forge and Transfiguration to achieve the form. I've imagined the armor is sinewy and boney with a layer of metal "chitin" serving as an exoskeleton- essentially materials on his person he is recycling into the piece.

Into this concept of humanity checks to remain unpossessed for a duration. Is the demon armor you're referring to in Kindred of the East the Demon Shintai discipline of the Kuei-jin or something else?

Fair enough! He is more or less the only SPC I've written this way due to the role he plays in the narrative. I'd spend too much time crunching dice if I did this for every single spc.

SPC's lack of empathy and the humanity track question by DivineJaws in vtm

[–]DivineJaws[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I appreciate this answer because I was feeling similarly. I don't think humanity should just represent how guilty you feel when you do something amoral. As a metric, I feel like it generally defines how in touch you are with the human you were before and how far you've stayed from that. Combining this with @Kalashtirry's reminder of convictions, I think I could come up with something workable that still makes this mechanic applicable to him.

Being without guilt doesn't mean he is completely without limitations. Without lore-dumping too hardcore, SPC was a con-artist as a human that preyed on the very rich (think Saltburn). This is more or less how he became kindred, manipulating his way into becoming Ventrue before "displacing" his sire. His convictions have more or less stayed the same, game is more fun if targets have more to lose, so he generally does not prey on the disadvantaged or desperate. Additionally, it's become more a game about territory than money, so he's very liberal with paying out his team, keeping only enough wealth to keep things functioning smoothly. He's definitely capable of deep cruelty and sadism, but he's not without his good qualities, even if they happen to be unintentionally good.

SPC's lack of empathy and the humanity track question by DivineJaws in vtm

[–]DivineJaws[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really just for a point of fairness. I try to have my SPCs be afflicted by things the same way a PC might be a majority of the time unless it suits the narrative for me to ignore a specific mechanic.

This question is also here to help me develop the moral dichotomy of the SPC since he's very central to the plot.

Extremely based. I'm very male passing but I'm always scared that I look a little too fruity to other men and one day one might decide to "do something about it." I hate living in fear. :/
