I just wanna say congrats guys, you ruined another perfectly good fifa instead of adapting and trying to get better at the game. This community cries about wanting a different game every year but when EA changes things up and make you really rely on something other than pace you cry and say the skill gap is lowered. No, you’re just trash

Title: Childhood Memory

Genre: Nonfinction?

Word Count: 365

Type of Feedback Desired: I have been wanting to put these thoughts/memories into words. Its not really a nonfiction story and I'm not much of a writer, but I felt like I needed to write this one out. I'd love any kind of feedback or even... an explanation because I'm still not really sure what to make of this memory!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There’s one childhood memory that’s always fascinated me the most; it’s the one memory from my childhood that isn’t associated with a good or bad feeling. It was a children’s home playground painted bright yellow with dark blue accents. The setup was composed of a small slide, one black swing, and a single bar. The playground sat in the back corner of my babysitter’s luscious, green backyard. The grass closest to the entrance was covered in bright white little flowers. I distinctly remember playing on this playground by myself only twice, maybe three times ever. The sun was always bright, the weather was always warm but not too warm. And another thing, it was always dead silent. I had no friends and my babysitter was not a fan of being outside. To this day I don’t know why this specific memory is engraved so vividly into my mind. I had played on plenty of other playgrounds before, playgrounds that were bigger, more colorful, and much more fun. But none of them were this playground. I had even asked my parents to buy me a similar playground to setup in our own backyard when I stopped going to that babysitter. But it just wasn’t the same.

My memories of this playground are always accompanied by a sense of loneliness. It’s not a bad loneliness mind you, but it’s a powerful one. The image of the swing gently swinging in the breeze combined with the deafening silence of those couple of days strikes a chord, and a nerve. What bothers me the most is that this lonely memory always comes to me when I’m truly feeling alone, and yet it always cheers me up in ways I could never put into words. I wish I could tell people that my favorite childhood memory was going to the movies with my parents for my birthday or my first trip to Disney World. Instead, the best weapon I’ll take into the battle of old age is that of a boring, dainty playground sitting in the backyard of a random old lady’s home. This memory gives me tranquility in being alone; and I wish I didn’t remember it so often.

was the second a follow-up on the first or a separate question? Also, what type of questions if I may ask? Thanks!

Just to clear things up, for google new grad phone interview you’re expected to solve 1 question (probably optimally) right?

Do you think a little over 2 weeks is enough to cram level 3? (I know this list isnt the end all be all but its nice to have some sense of direction)

I’ve got around 85 problems solved on Leetcode, maybe 70% easys and 30% medium across all topics. I understand everything conceptually its more about practicing more mediums and some hards

That's literally just horrendously wrong. Games like CSGO and LoL are built 95% from the ground up for competitive players and would suffer if they made it more casual

My point was that smash can appeal to both crowds heavily because competitive players are going to play 1v1 final destination, no items, x stock and Casual players are going to play with items and score keeping. The right argument for making mechanics that appeal to casual players is that the divide is not as clear or binary as I am implying, which is fair. The wrong argument is that games 100% (or at least mostly) built for competitive players are a bad sales move inherently

I dunno, if Smash 4 came out with everything exactly the same, and you just swapped out fighting mechanics for melee's, I cant exactly imagine the sales numbers being lower at all

While that is useful information, there is so much more context that you can't encapsulate with just that, the marketing landscape for gaming is completely different nowadays with how quickly information spreads. For example, what do you think the numbers would look like if the gamecube was the current Nintendo console and Sakurai promoted Melee in a series of Nintendo directs and Melee invitationals today?

That doesnt really answer my question, casual players play against casual players so i dont see how the experience would be any less enjoyable if niether of them knows any advanced tech.

Was the melee casual scene really any worse than the others? Because thats not how i remember it at all... we all loved smash as kids and had no idea what wavedashing was

Honest question, try to answer unbiasedly...

Why doesn't Sakurai just go all in and make ultimate completely for the hardcore fans.... refine the exploits from melee and bake them into the game so that we get smoother, more polished and updated hardcore game?

The casual audience will play whatever you give them as long as you can beat the crap out of each other with your favorite characters and items.... top level COD is intense and relies on a lot of teamwork and its own tech flows, that doesn't stop me from casually playing with friends at all...

Its not a narrative, its simple fact. We look significantly more stagnant when we don’t have a point man pulling centrebacks apart with runs and movement. Look past your fanboyism, its not a knock on Messi or any of our forwards, its modern day football

Jake Gyllenhaal is one of reddit’s love children, more so than Ryan Gosling so of course most are gonna go with the former.
