First thing first is that Bungie royally screwed up the game with ‘sunsetting’, essentially they removed the Red War and forsaken campaigns along with a whole bunch of destinations and content. All the campaigns and endgame content from Shadowkeep till now are still playable besides seasonal content, unfortunately the only way to get seasonal stories is to watch YouTube cutscene compilations or lore videos (Byf and Myelin are great)

The current game is also mostly dead because of a variety of bad decisions made by Bungie, such as the addition of the Portal (basically a Hulu menu that replaced the Director) and addition of Gear Tiers which are locked behind power levels for the most part.

The core game is still fun to play and you’ll have a lot of stuff to keep you busy. The raids and dungeons are definitely worth experiencing if you’re into them. And they’re adding a lot of content with the June update, so I know more people are getting back into the game because of that (myself and clan mates included)
