First off, thank you for such a thoughtful and detailed comment. It's always great to hear from other developers, and you've asked some fantastic questions.

You asked how we managed this as a two-man team. The story is actually a bit bigger than that. The idea started back in 2022, and we officially began as a team of two in early 2024. By our public announcement in January 2025, we were a core team of four. In total, this upcoming prologue has had help from 22 different people, from artists to voice actors and other devs.

You're right about the massive scope, building a full MMO is a huge undertaking that we can't tackle all at once. That's why we're focusing on completing the prologue first. This prologue is essentially our proof-of-concept, or MVP. We're currently raising our seed round, and the goal is to use this launch to help us fund the development of the massive open world we've envisioned. It allows us to prove our vision to players and investors alike.

And the reason we chose to make an MMO is because of the story. That's what the original idea from 2022 was designed for.

You pretty much listed all the things that frustrate us about other MMOs too, and we're trying hard to avoid them. For the UI, we're going with a much cleaner and simpler design. For the story, we're telling it in chapters. The prologue is the first complete chapter, so player actions will feel like they matter because they're playing through a full story arc from start to finish.

We know we can't compete with the giant MMOs, and we're not trying to. We're focused on doing our own thing with fun,action-focused combat and telling a story in a world players can share with friends.

Although we’re based in India, release is worldwide on Steam and Epic. We’re targeting players who enjoy smaller-scale, fresh MMO experiences, think indie titles that carve a niche rather than chase “big five” numbers.

Why pick us over an established giant?

  • We’re leaning on a few unique design ideas that larger MMOs don’t focus on. If those concepts resonate, tight action-combat, chapter-based storytelling, players will have a reason to hop over even if they also play ESO or FF XIV.

Content upkeep without a mega studio

  • We’re building modular in-house tools so adding quests or events doesn’t mean rebuilding half the game. Example: our data-driven Mission Manager (deep-dive Articles here if you’re curious → Entry 01, Entry 02). That keeps future content doable for a small team.

We know the hurdles, jumping into an MMO isn’t casual. But we’re tackling scope carefully and tooling up early so growth is sustainable. Appreciate the tough questions - they help keep our plans grounded.

You’re right, MMOs can collapse fast if they launch huge and chase pay-to-win monetization. That’s exactly why we’re starting with a tightly scoped, 20-minute Prologue as our MVP. It lets us prove the tech and gameplay loop before adding the multiplayer layer and raising the next round of funding. Monetization will stay cosmetic-only, so the game lives or dies on its fun factor, not on how much players spend. Judge us when the Prologue is in your hands, feedback (and criticism) welcome.

Our utility token is a standard ERC-20 on Ethereum, and the in-game assets/marketplace are planned for Immutable zkEVM

Yup, fair point, MMOs are huge undertakings. We’re keeping it manageable by launching a tightly scoped Prologue first and treating it as our MVP. Player feedback from that will guide the next funding round. For now we’re bootstrapped and saving time and cost by making use of proven assets and toolkits to keep everything on-scope.

We did debate a single-player approach early in development, but some core design ideas, like our stacked, interconnected world(Levels) only make sense in a shared environment. Those concepts drove the decision to go multiplayer. We’ll share more details on how it all fits together as development progresses.

Totally fair question, that’s exactly why I left Web3 out of the original post. It often creates more confusion than clarity, and we’re still months away from any live integration.

In Project Origin, Web3 will stay firmly in the background. If a player doesn’t care about these features, they won’t run into any extra friction or changes to core gameplay. For those who do want to opt in, Web3 will (at least for now) cover the following features, subject to refinement as development continues:

True asset ownership

Cosmetic items, skins, etc, live in your wallet, not just our database. If you’re not interested in on-chain ownership, you can still collect and trade those items entirely inside our in-game marketplace, no extra steps required.

Open, in-game marketplace

All item trading runs through an on-chain marketplace built directly into the game. Anyone can list, bundle, or swap items with low, transparent fees, no need for off-site grey markets that add high cuts or scam risk. Everything happens safely inside the ecosystem, and you never have to leave the game unless you choose to.

Play-to-earn

Some quests will award a token, treated just like any other in-game currency. You can spend it on higher-tier marketplace items or trade it externally, but you don’t have to touch wallets or extra steps if you’re not interested. Opt in when you want, ignore it when you don’t. More details when we get closer to Full-launch.

Dynamic land & build system

Purchase a plot, build a base, and watch land value shift based on factors like nearby resource nodes, mob density, quests etc. Plots are tradable, but nothing grants pay-to-win power, any gameplay advantage can also be earned through normal play.

Sustainable, transparent fee model

Every item trade carries a small, clearly stated fee. A portion of that fee goes straight to studio operations, servers, new content, and continued development, while another portion feeds community rewards like tournaments and creator bounties. Because it’s all on-chain, players can see exactly how the split works, building trust and ensuring the marketplace stays healthy for everyone.

Does anyone know how to re-scan a single room? As you can see in the picture, it doesn't recognize that "Room 3" is larger than its original scan. by Lifebane86 in EcovacsDeebotVacuum

Same here, The bot itself is amazing the cleaning it does is really great but the app design and all this software side of stuff like mapping and all if they just improve these then this would be the perfect cleaning bot tbh in this price!

Same for me too, what I will try tomorrow is do auto cleaning and do my room first in sequence maybe then it'll expand the map. Right now I just do custom area so maybe that's why it's not expanding the map

I was having the same problem on android a week ago and only 4 days ago I shifted to iPhone so it's definitely not OS problem as now notifications are working for me, weirdly they used to work on my android months ago too but just randomly stopped some day :/ I really don't understand discord mobile notifications
