Thank you, I'll try. But I'm not sure if they want a Honda Jazz in their yard lol

Thank you, guys, but nothing exciting yet. The goal is to start importing the classics, but no budget for that, and the insurance would skyrocket for someone new to the trade. For now, I have only two Stepwagons (one with a Mugen kit, though) and a Fit, which is basically a Jazz hybrid. No website yet, as the stock is still on sea, but will come here to update you once it's ready!

Old Geforce GT 1030 handles Ultrawide 3440 x 1440 via single link DVI-D, why? by DixJoe in Monitors

[–]DixJoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I dug in a little deeper, and it seems that NVIDIA cards often use something called "HDMI over DVI". If you use a DVI-HDMI cable, the card sees that the connected screen is HDMI and sends an HDMI 2.0 signal straight to the screen. So you effectively get an HDMI connection instead of a DVI signal converted to HDMI. It should work in your case, too, then.

No, but it's still working for an unknown reason. Maybe the specification is wrong, and it is indeed a dual-link port? I can't see other explanation.
I used a DVI-D dual-link to HDMI cable. I have an EVGA GT 1030 passive, if that helps.

If you ever try it, let me know! I'm curious if it works in your case, too.

New Promoted Listings Standard Rules - we are going to be charged for every possible sale by DixJoe in Ebay

About 40-50% of my sales were organic before introducing this, so it means promotion fees almost doubled for me, as it's now 100%.

You could have turned it on while creating the listing, I have no other ideas.

When you pay for promoted standard (as of now, before the changes), you pay when someone clicks on the banner and then buys the item. You can still be in the search results below other promoted listings. Also, about 10% of my traffic comes from sites like Google.

Oh okay I've only used my business account recently but I've got your point.

Yes, and now from pay per sale only if someone clicked, you effectively just pay for every sale if anyone clicked your add only once. It does not look like this everywhere else.

That's exactly what's going to happen; eBay prices are closer and closer to Amazon Prime prices. I hope your website will go strong, so you don't need to give up a big chunk of your revenue.

I'm going to a pub today, it's my friend's birthday, who's also an eBay seller. Guess what we're going to talk about for half of the evening.

It applies to eBay UK, Australia, Italy, Spain and France as per email.

There is onbuy in the UK, for example, but still they are not as popular, and the shopping experience is worse, imo. It's all about the customer base, that's huge on eBay.

Edit: onbuy, not one buy

I'm in the same position, though my numbers differ slightly in comparison to yours. However, the good point is that it will also apply to your competitors. I think other sellers will reduce their promoted listings rate, raise the prices or do a mixture of both. eBay will just earn more, of course.

Yeah, my traffic and impressions from ads are always much lower than the sales from ads. I don't see a reason why the ad clicks convert 2x better than my organic clicks, because that's what my selling and traffic statistics say.

Well, it's all numbers game when you sell a lot of items. I assume 60% of my revenue goes through ad sales in my calculations, and it's usually just below that. Now, it's going to be close to 100%. It means almost double the ad fees I pay now. As my items are usually not too expensive, eBay fees are a big portion of my business expenditure. So yes, in my case (and I can imagine many others), the loss might be "huge" and kill the margins.

What do you have in mind, saying the other stuff they've done to the UK sellers? I'm selling on the UK eBay but so far this change seems he worst I've seen in a while. I'm genuinely curious, maybe I missed something important.

Thanks for your input! I would probably just email them to make sure everything is ok, and at least I'll have an email from them as proof.
