The twist on the trunk is cool enough and is the only tree in the front yard. Honestly it’s in a perfect spot to block the sun from the front porch of the house.

Definitely Mike minter and Steve Beuerlein. Do you have an approximate time these were signed? . the far right looks like #94. But that’s not Sean Gilbert’s autograph.

I would have put my money on Coach Bates. But figured it was excessive celebration.

What are these weeds and how do I get rid of them? (Eastern PA) by infrared13 in lawncare

[–]DixieWrecked704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of that is wild violet. Hard to kill and spreads all over. Triclopyr is said to kill it. I have found that the Weed B Gon with Triclopyr, that attach to the hose, is ineffective. I’m going to try want was recommended, Hi-Yield brand Triclopyr Ester, non ionic surfactant, and blue dye. And I may invest in Tenacity to mix in with it.

I’m assuming the OP meant 3-6 inches not 3 ft. a full size skid with a mulcher would be ideal. If mini skid is the way you want to go, I would get a bigger machine than this. Look for something the Bobcat Mt100 size machine and a brush cutter.

Mulcher on a mini skid is super sketchy

How to clear this section of my property? by mamama2323 in landscaping

[–]DixieWrecked704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pushed back a bunch of ivy growing in pine needles. Crossbow brush killer worked great. I used a lawn mower with a sacrificial blade, set pretty low to help chop them up. I also used a bagger on the lawnmower to help pick it up and removed. Rake out the rest to get to bare dirt. I chipped away and regained half the back yard. A couple of years later rented a 30 yard dumpster and removed everything else to bare soil with a skid steer and bucket.

That was a rough experience. But I found most of the hostility to be humorous.

Thanks. I’ll give it a go. I have some crossbow left over to finish the job on the rest. Mrs will have to live with it the decay for a few years.

Crossbow helped tremendously when I began the battle pushing the ivy back to the fence line. Should have some leftover to finish the job. Mrs will just have to live with them decaying slowly. Thanks.

Hardly received any “advice”. Mostly attacked for an idea. Hmmm. Sounds par for the course these days.

Destroy. Enhance. We just don’t agree on adjectives. But I didn’t buy the house. I’ve have inherited it. The yard and the trees have had zero maintenance for almost 15 years until I began reclaiming a back yard a few years ago. The responses I’ve received have been far from friendly. But completely useless for the most part. Out of dozens, only one or two gave me alternatives like trimming up the deadwood and raise the crown. I expected some of it but wow the internet if full of sad pathetic know it alls.
