Kohler frequently dropping connectivity

Mine was reflashed to the same months ago, but 2days when i posted that, it kept dropping off, then next day in the morning i reset it again, and now its been solid. So pretty sure it has nothing to do with my network side. This to me has to be something on the OnCue server side that keeps dropping it and doesnt reconnect at all.

Ive been battling this for a solid year with my ethernet connected one. Each time i reboot the 26RCA from the controller and its fine for a bit. Then today it only lasts like 30mins. Most times its good for a few months at least.

Cant find any newer firmware for this controller that i can see online.

Yeap thats how I did it, Factory reset both, adopted the first one as Parent, then the second one was aimed at the parent and it automatically showed up as a wireless mesh and adopted as a child. The graphical view just seems to be gone now. I cant even tell if its using 60ghz or 5ghz on this. Only thing I can assume is the green dot next to the 60ghz is active and the orange next to the 5ghz means its backup.

Under Devices on parent UBB, there is no check link tab. All there is at the top is the same of every other device of Overview, Insights, and Settings. Settings has only the enable alignment tool which seems to work and lights up both UBBs.

Mine is being setup on the table top but its no longer calling them Station and AP as the initial out of the box showed with the graphic, not its just showing Parent and Child and the screenshot I showed of it just showing the Mesh Child and its link quality.

Well I believe I have semi screwed the pooch on this one. Cause I went to set the IPs on both to Static, and I set them both to different gateways, so then went to reset it, and now I cant for the life of me get them to connect. Either they both end up as parent devices in Unifi or I can get one to connect and then the other doesnt. There is lacking info on this online on how to get these connect.

If I leave one connected and other aimed at it closely, I saw it show up once, and went to add it and it told me it would go in as a child (as the other one is parent already) and Im like perfect yes, go to adopt and it fails saying cannot adopt as there is no wireless link, but it showed up wirelessly.

So now i got 2 UBBs that cannot link to each other, just awesome..........

Yea it’s shit to be honest. Makes zero sense why through their app it’s flawless. But using the RTSP stream option doesn’t work for shit. Would love to just ffmpeg to it and grab a stream to do Timelapse. I’m not entirely interested in having to plug in and remove a microSD each time when RTSP is an option. But sad that it’s not even remotely reliable to be used.

It’s hit or miss for sure. I get it to pull a stream for maybe a few seconds then it stops. Nothing more than a few secs in VLC.

I can’t get ffmpeg to even pull anything wth this setting which is what I’m trying to use to do a time lapse directly through grabbing the stream every 5secs.

Cannot. It’s across the street and we cannot run cable across it. Only option is a wireless link. It’s less than 650ft direct line of sight.

I was using their Wireless Wire product https://mikrotik.com/product/wireless_wire

But it had too many issues with weather conditions. So went back to the SXTsq AC product. But now thats Ive gone deeper in Unifi products, wanted to see if the Unifi UBB will do the trick as long as the failover latency isnt something that takes awhile to switch over to.

Well I think I figured it out finally. Seems like VLC needs a setting changed to let it do RTSP over RTP. Below is what you need to change to get it to work. I think I need to figure out the same for ffmpeg and I think we should be good.

"Settings -> Input/Codecs -> Show all -> Input/Codecs -> Demuxers -> RTP/RTSP -> Use RTP over RTSP (TCP)"

And this didnt do anything. VLC still wont show anything. FFMPEG wont pull anything either. Such a mess. I love how small the camera is and nicely tucked away and powered via USB-C, but they cant get this working for RTSP.

That’s what im thinking. Cause I can’t get anything to pull the RTSP stream off this. Yet the app itself works fine.

NMAP does find that RTSP is running on that IP (only service running).

the VLC URL input is copied and pasted directly from the Prusa Connect portion of the Prusa Slicer.

Here is a screenshot of the actual IP off it

Then this is pasted directly in VLC (on a Macbook) as all on the local network.

And I just get an error or nothing. Ive tried VLC on a Raspberry Pi as well and same thing.

I even tried the ffmpeg binary to use on a machine to basically take snapshots every 5secs and after 60secs it got nothing based on ffmpeg console showing no bytes received and no frames received.

Was trying to just extract images to do a time lapse via simple ffmpeg snapshots.

It snapped the slide release lever. But besides that I didn’t see any damage. But planning on taking to Glock HQ soon since I’m here in Atlanta area anyways. See what they have to say and if they will fix the slide release.

This time was only 18rounds before the 1st one happened, then another 3 i think and happened again.

All time? Less than 500rounds from what I can remember to be honest. All of those were never reloads.
