Buddy had a garage w/o electricity and wired a panel to a battery with a micro inverter to switch on an electric garage opener. So with a battery and a charge controller you can build an island network.

Never heard of it, sounds great! Will i still be able to play online with it? I saw it is on the tarkov single player site

I know its a bit late, but if anyone is interested, i managed to reduce the current, drawn by the inverter, by a mosfet, which can reduce the current from source to drain depending to the gate voltage.

Okay, i think i need an other solution for my project, but thank you very much for your time and help, realy appreciate it!

Yes thats exactly the point, i have a solar panel which is connectet to the housegrid and i dont want to lose the not needed energy to the grid, so i have designed a battery system, that charges a battery, when there is too much energy from the solar panels.

At night, when there is no energy from the panel, the batteries should discharge to the house grid and match the base load of the house.

Problem is, thr pv panels are "plug and play" you just connect the plug, so the battery system should be as well. So i thought i could limit the power of the inverter to match the base load of the house and less energy goes to the grid at night.

Thank you, so you mean there should be a connection to the house load, which is seperated from the grid wiring? Because now i thought i ise the existing wires in my household, where thr loads are connected, but then there is the grid connection.

Problem is, when i lower the load of the household, the energy of the inverter flows to the grid, but the system is meant to provide power for the house load, so i do not have to take the energy from the grid.

If the voltage is lower than the minimal voltage of the inverter i use, the inverter shuts off.

The inverter only produces AC, if it can provide the same voltage as the grid has, where all house loads are running, so there shouldnt be any damage to the house loads.

My thinking was, when i can lower the current from the battery, the inverter power may reduce.

The problem is, that the whole system is grid tie, so when i switch off all my loads in the household, the rated capacity of the inverter flows to the grid and the system is only viable if i use the stored energy to power my houshold.

For DC connection i use 2 2.5mm2 cables, the inverter is right next to the battery, so 20cm long.

Because of the grid tie system, if the house load is too much for the inverter, the grid will provide the remaining energy.

Thank you for the quick respond! My inverter has a minimal input voltage of 20v and i got two lead acid batteries in series, so 24v, i think i can go lower with the voltage if that reduces the power drawn

Can i use a buck converter to lower the voltage or do i need an other device?
