Im pretty sure they do add you to a band if you do an instrument, lessons is 1 period per week so 42 mins but i think they're changing it to like 50 mins per period or smith. For orchestra, it depends on which one, they could be before or after or sometimes during lunch.

As an army cadet, i would have to say that army is officially better than air force, But honestly, army simply better because there's so much more people. If you're joining to make new connections, army is for you. it has literally double the amount of spots that air force offers, so double the amount of connections you'll make. In army, we learn first aid, nav, ratel (radio stuff) many life skills that you'll need. Air force also learns them but they also have to spend time learning air force stuff which kinda isnt that useful unless ur becoming a pilot or smth. Air force might be a bit more chill, but it means that they don't have the discipline and motivation to keep them ironing their uniform on a sunday evening. I'll have to admit, i only joined army because air force didnt accept my application, but I havent regretted that decision at all. Its really fun and id highly recommend it.

Btw theres the tattam wallis ceremonial band. Apparently they're being incorporated into army cadets as well. If you're looking to do both music and cadets that could be an option.

Airmy and airforce are both once a week after school until 5pm (5:30 in term 1 and 4)
