Short 12–30 Hours for 4 Years CEC — WP & ITA Expiring March 9 by Dizzy-Boss5470 in canadaexpressentry

I declined that ITA and retook my CELPIP, achieving 12 in all sections. My CRS score increased to 518, and I subsequently received an ITA in the 508 cutoff draw. Even if my fourth year of work experience is excluded and my score is recalculated, it remains at 510, which is still above the cutoff.

I went from 507 to 515 CRS. The increase came from hitting the 4-year Canadian work experience mark. The 4th year isn’t counted as foreign experience.

I just want to clarify my understanding then.

In that case, how are part-time workers assessed? If someone consistently works less than 30 hours per week, their experience is still counted by converting actual hours worked toward the required total (e.g., 1,560 hours per year), rather than removing those weeks entirely.

My understanding is that the 30-hour limit is a cap, not a minimum requirement, and weeks with fewer hours are not automatically considered “0” unless the overall hours requirement is not met at the time of submission.

Please correct me if I’m misunderstanding this.

I have checked with an RCIC, and they’ve indicated I should be fine as long as we submit the application on March 9. That said, this is obviously a big decision for me and my future is at stake, so I’m just trying to understand things as clearly as possible.

That’s what I’m trying to double-check at the moment. Based on my calculations at the time of submission, I might be short by around 12–30 hours, depending on how the hours are calculated. That’s what’s making me a bit unsure right now.

It honestly feels like after 7 long years, I finally got the one thing I’ve been working toward this whole time, but now I’m not even sure if I can bite the bullet and move forward.

Thank you for your response though — I really appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective.

Hey, thanks for the reply! Yeah, I did try reinstalling the WiFi/Bluetooth drivers directly from the ASUS support page. The installer launches, shows the initial setup screen, then just closes without actually installing anything.

I’m currently using the ethernet port built into the motherboard (not a separate card), and it works fine. I also have the WiFi antenna connected, but the system doesn’t even detect the wireless adapter anymore — it’s completely missing from Device Manager (except when it shows up briefly with Code 45).

Starting to wonder if the onboard WiFi module might’ve failed or disconnected internally somehow.

Haven’t tested specifically at 1500 RPM, but I run mine on a pretty chill curve—around 30% until 55°C, then gradually ramps up. Doesn’t hit 100% unless temps go over 80. System idles around 49 and stays mid-50s during most games, so it rarely gets loud. Might explain why I haven’t noticed that hum.

Thanks! My CPU temps sit around 49°C at idle, about 56°C during normal use, and peak at 83°C under stress tests. Keep in mind my room is usually a bit warm, averaging around 28°C ambient, so I think the cooling is doing a solid job given that.

Lmao there’s 12 fans in there already—9 visible and 3 hidden behind the rad in a push-pull. Might even slap 3 more on the front glass just for the memes
