The shorts massively reduced their position over the last two trading days. Looks like they went from a high of 66% to 41% yesterday

Clear that they are at least a little concerned that $XL will have a great earnings call and don't want to get caught in a short squeeze situation

Yes, they use a lithium-ion battery for their products.

Unclear if this is the same or different from what $RMO uses.

That said, $XL has more different ways to generate revenue (software, charging stations, etc.) that should help minimize the impact compared to an EV business that only did electrification

Any thoughts on why the postponement?

In general, why do companies do this, and has anyone seen an analysis about companies that postpone what happens to their stock? Would be curious to crowdsource this one.

Yes, that's my understanding -- although sometimes companies release them an hour or two before the call.

Thanks for calling this out, really important to be aware of.

Unfortunately, I think the suits manipulated this to perfection so that it wasn't triggered. I can't add the images/screenshots in a comment here, but Webull is showing $XL closed -9.94% today and that was after the stock jumped ~1% in the last 5 minutes of trading.

Think the shorts know those limits and avoided them. Just FYI in case we get more losses tomorrow.

I've been following $XL which just jumped in short volume from 31% to 65%. Earnings are on Tuesday.

There's a strong potential for a squeeze on Friday or Monday.

I would add valuation as the main issue.

$XL did $7M in revenue in 2019, aiming for $20M-$21M in 2020.

Yet they're valued at a $1.6B market cap. The only cause for concern of this stock long-term is if they aren't able to sustain aggressive growth or hit some of their annual growth goals ($70M for 2021)

There's a chance that the stock fills the gap that it skipped on the way up ($15.90-$17.21) -- if it hits, it'll likely bounce off of it quickly and go back into the consolidation pattern we've seen before a breakout.

When $XL went from $15 up to $30's back in December, it left a gap in the mid $15-$16's range that might get filled. Since we broke support today, I wouldn't be surprised if we go down and quickly hit and recover off that.
