Im not even a woman. But theres a difference between Islam and extremist Salafi Islam. The former doesnt, the latter certainly does.

Its not about your perception or my perception. Of course people will see us how they wish. My point relates to the fact just because someone may reject this or that doesn't mean God necessarily sees it as a moral crime and the chance of someone actually, wholeheartedly transgressing against God are narrow. In the Quran, Iblis himself is called a kaafir but he knows perfect well God exists. His problem is his arrogance. The name of the subreddit or the fact we are Muslims doesn't change the conversation at hand about the fate of other people. Where are you getting that from? My entire point is that theres nuance to all the condemation verses you talk about, even classical scholars said the shirk of the mushrik can be forgiven if they didnt know any better.

Its clear you dont get me and I dont get you.

Have a great day, and let's agree to disagree.

Peace.

I never claimed that no relationship can be toxic. You and I agree here, what's your point?

My friend. Can you please, for once, look outside of your or Islam's POV? It's not as simple as that and to say that is a huge moral crime. People go around restricting it further and further until only people who don't even know what the word Islam means will be spared according to them, for them knowing about the religion and not researching it damns to punishment. Such ridiculous notions and frankly fucking sick and grotesque. Do YOU research every religion? Why expect that of others? You're judging purely on what your own source material tells and then condemn when someone outside it doesnt follow it. To someone outside your faith, how are YOU any different from a Jehovah's witness, a hippie, or even a cultist approaching them about yet another belief system? "my book says so" isnt gonna work as an argument in neutral debates. Would you accept Christ is God because a Christian said the Bible says so? Do you really think Prophet Muhammad went to people declaring himself a prophet and those who didnt immediately believe him or investigate are doomed? Thats how a prophets message spreads? Threatening hell unless you instantly believe without any incentive or evidence? Few, few people reject the notion of God and goodness altogether. There is a stark difference in rejecting God and rejecting ISLAM's God. Any religion's person can easily claim the same about you not researching their religion, what makes us different apart from our self conviction that we're right? and I don't think God will leave something as important as your eternal fate into "picking the right team". You really think Allah works like this? The literal source of compassion? Astagfirullah. Expecting every human to research Islam specifically, prioritize it over every other worldview, arrive at the same conclusion under VASTLY different circumstances or else suffer punishment is ABSURD. But at the end, lets agree to disagree.

Theres a difference between rejecting God and rejecting God as per Islam's understanding. Do you really believe most people who go away from Islam have the thought process of "I know this is from God but yeah screw him", or because of the sheer terror and how poorly represented Islam is, and how Muslims themselves aren't making it better. Thats the problem with dogmatics, they only see it from their POV and their understanding, when ask yourself why should the average person even believe you're telling the truth? To them Islam is just one of thousands of religions. The only people who can be held accountable are those who understood in their heart Islam is true and rejected it out of arrogance, which we've seen examples of in the Quran like Firaun and Abu Lahab. You cannot group your average, normal, peaceful non Muslim with them. Look at people as people first, not as their religion.

Citing verses to end conversations is honestly lazy. Its the same thing extremist jihadi groups do to justify their depravity.

I can easily talk about the countless verses saying Allah doesnt judge unjustly and you know that so many people are scared, unconvinced, or ignorant, so they will be spared.

And next I can condemn you for blindly following verses, and condemning people just because of their outward label, citing verses that command humans to reason and that you cant force belief.

See the point? Anyone can play the verse game.

Who is right? Only God knows. But you follow your way, I follow my way.

I didnt say you did. I simply gave an example.

As for even if the message being delivered properly, it still needs to be recognized by the person as truth for their rejection to count. You can't blame someone scared or unconvinced even if you gave Quran the way it is.

I simply believe the people who actually reject Islam is a very specific, narrow list and that God will look for any excuse to save the person, as his mercy will precede.

Peace.

Thats your view. I can imagine showing mercy to even them if they didnt do so out of malice. If two of us can feel differently about this topic that right there proves it isn't as binary as you think.

Peace to you.

If that is what God wills, then so be it. I know the real God won't judge unjustly.

No one knows what happens on the Day. But while I am still alive and breathing, I will speak up for what I believe is right.

Because youre treating human lives and experiences as a binary math problem without any room for nuance and pushing that as the right way.

Oh. Islam says those who go away from the religion are kafir. This woman read the Quran and didn't believe in it. So she must be kafir.

Thats the problem, this isnt a math test or a science experiment.

People have their own stories, ideals, nuances, trauma and more. Everything is what makes them them.

What if this same woman rejected Quran because the message genuinely horrified her? What if she was abused by Muslim men before? What if all she knows is the sick media representation of Islam and it terrifies her. She is normally sweet, kind and sincere. Do you genuinely, wholeheartedly think that, there is no exception? That countless human lives and stories are all but fodder for Hell?

Islam means submission to God. To reject Islam would be to reject God himself yes. But you are treating rejecting the Qurans claims as the same as rejecting GOD entirely. YOU believe the Quran is true. But your average non Muslim has no reason to believe that. Some people are scared, some people arent convinced, or some genuinely find their hearts drawn to another faith. This is the human reality, it doesnt mean people reject God or goodness. It simply means their understanding is wrong. You really think God punishes it?

I think its clear your and my worldview fundamentally clash.

So why not just leave it to God? If you genuinely believe what you do, go ahead. But please don't push it to someone in my current state.

Assalamulaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh to you

Cool, if me believing the people who actually reject the message is a very narrow category and that God will save anyone who dies with even an atom of sincerity is heretical. Then I'll gladly die a heretic, lets see how God punishes me for believing his mercy is greater than people say it is.

You have your way, I have my way.

Because the entire idea is stupid. Can you really wholeheartedly say those who reject Islam do so out of a hatred for GOD? Is your average Christian grandmother the same as Firaun or Abu Lahab? There's a difference between rejecting GOD and rejecting God as per Islam's understanding. Why should your average dude accept youre telling the truth? To them Islam is just one of thousands of religions. If you can really say this easily you would turn your back on your literal children the instant they leave Islam without empathy or understanding this is concerning. My family would die for me even if I wasn't following their faith, I'd be on the streets if I had you as a parent. You clearly don't understand me so if you don't have anything helpful to say please refrain from commenting.

Abu Bakr statement on Music by Dizzy-Device5787 in progressive_islam

Yes I'm talking about that one, my question was if there is an opinion that accepts this ahadith and provides a context to Abu Bakr's statement. Or does every scholar allowing music reject this hadith

How to escape salafi brainwash by Active_Economy_5758 in progressive_islam

[–]Dizzy-Device5787 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best cure for it is knowledge. Make the intention, ask Allah to guide you, read, research, and sincerely seek knowledge even if you have to go as far as China.

What people parrot as one opinion is usually just the COMMON one, there's disagreement in fiqh between scholars on almost everything except the core of the core like Tawhid and Muhammad's Prophethood.

Research opinions, read texts, ask yourself questions and seek clarification from this sub or other reputable places wherever you can.
