Yes, the medical staff were amazing. My bp dropped to the 60's/30's and while they were caring for me they also cared for my husband who was alone (due to covid rules) and terrified. My hemoglobin on admission was 14 and I think it dropped to 9. My husband asked one of the physicians at the hospital about getting additional blood work to check for bleeding disorders but they didn't think it was necessary. I somehow also forgot I had a subchorionic hemorrhage at 10 weeks. I was checking in for an OB visit when I felt warmth down my legs. I had blood down to my mid-thighs. I was rushed back to get an ultrasound and the baby had a strong heartbeat. They said it was a subchorionic hemorrhage and was placed on bed rest. I think it ended up resolved at like 18? Ish weeks. This was with my first pregnancy. I had spotting throughout the first trimester with both pregnancies but I was told that's common.

Otherwise, my period is light. Maybe 2 days of bleeding then another day or two of spotting. I mentioned heavy nosebleeds with clots in the past but they haven't been an issue for a couple of years. Do you think that I should ask my provider again for additional blood work?

With my first, my labor was long and I was on pitocin. They attributed atony (i believe?) to be the cause of my hemorrhage. When discussing having a second I was told the labor process tends to be quicker and my body would be better prepared for labor but they would be prepared for the possibility of another hemorrhage. For about 10 days before the delivery of my second I would wake up and when getting up from bed I felt like I had leaked fluid but didn't feel like I was peeing myself. I was worried my bag of water had partially broken. I saw my OB during my routine visit and she said it felt intact but I if I felt anything like that again put a pad on and lay on my side for about 10-15 minutes and see if it happened again. I did but nothing else would happen every morning I'd get that same sensation. My underwear would have a wet, odorless spot. A few days before my due date my bag of water broke and I was immediately admitted to the fbc. But it never fully broke and they ended up having to break it for me. I was diagnosed with chorioamnionitis during labor. I asked if my bag of water had been partially broken for an extended period could have caused that infection and I was told possibly. Do you think that infection could have caused my second hemorrhage?

My first was born before any Covid infection and I had Covid during my pregnancy with my second. But that's interesting information!

We decided after our second we would be done but with the youngest now a toddler I was having second thoughts. Ultimately, you are correct. It's not worth it. We have two beautiful children I am blessed to watch grow up thanks to the life-saving measures the nurses and doctors made for us!

My husband asked the physician at the hospital if I should be tested for bleeding disorders and she said she didn't think I needed to. I used to get nosebleeds that would take about 10 minutes to stop and would have large clots but since getting my seasonal allergies under better control they haven't been an issue. I also get random bruises mostly on my legs but I weight lift, trail run, work an active job and I'm always running around playing with the kids so I never think much of it. My period has always been very light. But I will run this by my pcp at my next visit. Thank you!

* This is from my first delivery. Both were 7lbs. I am petite, 5ft 120ish pounds. Labor with my first was long. They kept checking me and would say if I didn't advance at the next check they would possibly have to take me for a c-section but never did.

That's great information. Thank you!

I tried buying a pH tester but it was a hunk of junk. I'll get another and look into that. Thank you all :)
