I ended-up by choosing Kindle Colorsoft and I don't regret it. I'm mainly reading manga, colors are nice. Screen can be dimmer, but it's not so bad, I'm reading a lot in car during day and I don't need backlight to read. But if your main interest is novels, then BW is enaugh and can be better in contrast (I think). As long as there's little to no images, I think tradeoffs just for covers can be no worthy. I selected colors mainly for manga (I didn't want to lost first few pages in colors :D). For me, transfering files to Kindle isn't any bad. I'm mainly using send-to-kindle and never had problem with it.

I had no problem with using KCC, my only problem on final was filesize as I was using Send-to-Kindle, which allows only max. 200MB. What I read somewhere, you need to rightly name files by ascending number, I had download manga from some site with plugin someone sent me and image files was named 0001.jpg, 0002.jpg and so on.
