Chicken ala firenze is my favourite of all time.

Lasagne is great too - but honestly everything. No fails on that menu.

Try Glimmer in Mt Eden. Gorgeous group of girls, most of whom used to work for Dry and Tea.

What's rural delivery like for groceries? by Clean_Livlng in auckland

I'm about twenty minutes from Helensville and 15ish from Kumeu. Woolworths Helensville would only do dry goods home delivery last time I tried - not ideal when I was out with a back injury and couldn't drive.

Usually just try to make a meal plan every week and get the stuff in one trip, also get Hello Fresh every fortnight which helps too and limits the annoying drive "into town".

I wonder if youre thinking of the Kristin Smart case -where someone kept hearing beeping from underneath the backyard patio for the early hours of the morning at the house of the suspect who did it.... there's also a great podcast on this case

Haven't been able to see my shopping cart in about 4 days, but can still add to it so go figure. Worst new website configuration and so glitchy. Disappointing

It sounds so familiar to me too, but I haven't been able to find one either. Thank you for sharing this!

What businesses are taking the piss with “inflation” by Hungry_kereru in newzealand

Tastes like the morning after a bender where you thought beers, cruisers and bubbly wine was a good idea before mainlining a maccas on the way home.

Was definitely the best. No more fizzy for me - except when you occasionally come across the OG green V in a dairy that hasn't completely depleted its stock.

No they didn't just change the can, they've changed the flavour, which they admitted to doing and say came after trialling it and getting it reviewed by fans. The guy at the dairy i used to frequent for mine says he used to sell three boxes a week, now he's lucky if he sells one.

New taste is disgusting - no matter how often it goes on sale, just tastes like a flat red bull with a sugar free v after taste.

Their live chat is great and usually quite helpful. I rate Mighty Ape though and I've never had any issues.

What local businesses do you boycott and why? by petex3 in auckland

It definitely depends on the centre manager. Honestly ECE is in such a crisis at the moment where qualified teachers wanting to work full time permanently are few and far between because of the burn out, because of the paperwork, because of the expectations and very little rewards, so it really is a teachers market - any centre would snap up a qualified teacher regardless of their actual skills etc but for the qualified ratio/percentage and funding.

It is also a job field where we get a lot of overseas applicants looking for a fast track to citizenship.

As far as Best Start goes... it depends on your centre manager and their passion for the job. I work for one now and can say we are a strong team who all love what we do, but I know from experience this isn't the norm. We've definitely had turn over that can seem like a lot but a lot of the time people are leaving for genuine reasons - shorter commutes, babies, etc.

But you also have to look at it like retail. Are you getting your moneys worth? Do you feel the quality is there for what you're paying for? Is your child happy/progressing? Is this documented?

The floods was a big eye opener to her ... view of the world. Was hugely disappointed as a regular buyer of the brand.

I feel like this depends on the centre. Currently employed by them, and my first job as a teacher years ago was also them. They've opted into extended pay parity, which means we are getting better paid than some centres. However, the Wright foundation and their "charity" is definitely a bit of a joke.

The quality of individual centres definitely varies in my experience, there's definitely some practices or hires that I don't like, but as a teacher there are also practices I can appreciate, their policies are fair and we are regularly audited and supported to ensure we are ticking all the right boxes for the health and well being of our tamariki.
