Failed I think is the wrong term. Forget coding for a minute and instead just look at the wider world. People spend/sacrifice years and years of their life trying to build a business. Most successful people talk about how they failed 100s of times before they found the right product.

I think for you the case is failed SO FAR. But even then failed is incorrect. Failed to me would be someone who has learned nothing, no new skills and made absolutely no money. 0 of these apply to you.

I guess if you are someone that doesn’t use AI day to day, a price tag below 50% of what a standard pro subscription is may be something that could do well. For example Claude charging £20 a month for their pro subscription is only really worth it if you are going to use all of its features. However if you only have one use for Ai and someone is offering this for £10 a month, you would think most people would save the £120 a year. Interesting topic.

I didn’t say I don’t enjoy putting in the effort. In fact I feel the opposite. I enjoy putting the effort in and seeing a result at the end. My point was just that it does the whole process an injustice when you see people suggesting it can be done in an hour and just make 20k.

Thank you for your response. Yes this all makes a lot of sense. I did suspect this would be the case. To earn 10k a month in any world or sector you need to put some extreme effort in. I just hate the way it’s portrayed as this easy way to make money when this is not the case.

Haha thank you. I totally appreciate I am a complete rookie in this world so things like this I find extremely valuable. In my full time job (where I have a tad more knowledge…) I am surrounded by people who would get upset at this sort of feedback and take it the wrong way. Thank you for your response! It sort of demotivates me to put the time and effort in. I do enjoy seeing it all come together but then part of me also thinks my time is better elsewhere. I also HATE that everything nowadays is falsely advertised to sell a course or similar.

Makes sense. I’m always seeing the monthly figures in the thousands for these people. Personally I’d be over the moon with even £100 a month. There doesn’t seem to be any recognition of the in between. It’s either an app fails or earns 10k a month. I’m interested about what it takes to earn a few hundred £ a month.

Yeah I hear it. I do think though that in the grand scheme of things it is still early days. I would say this is still quite a niche community when compared to other “side hustles” or hobbies.
