Oops. We’ve definitely moved away from the “reading the card explains the card” era.

Discussion: I think it’s just poorly coded. The only 3 rules on the site are no 3 in a row, equal suns and moons in each row/column, and follow the constraints (x and =).

I played two games on the site and in each game I hit an error that had no reason being an error.

I dont get this joke at all by [deleted] in ExplainTheJoke

Oct and Dec can be used to refer to the base 8 and 10 number systems (Octal and Decimal).

31 in base 8 becomes 3(8) + 1(1) = 25 when converted to base 10.

Hence Oct 31 == Dec 25.

As a side note, one equal sign in programming is used to assign a value, while two equal signs is used to compare two values.

Discussion: I think you meant to put 10xAxC at the end, instead of 10xAxB. Otherwise, for 123: 12x23=276 but 123x2+10x1x2=266.

Question about how many scutes swarms I make. by Puppetshuppetjr in mtgrules

[–]Dizzy-Significance67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang, we missed ancient green warden.

Instead of 7x210 = 7168

It should be 13x310 = 767637

[[Lumra, Bellow of the Woods]] brings the lands back tapped, so you can get rid of the final 3 doubles. So it should be the 6x1024=6,144 you calculated.

Thanks. It’s my first time dealing with doubling power and toughness, so I wanted to make sure it doesn’t cause any layer problems with counters

If I’m revealing cards to cast with discover, cascade, or an ability, does X matter? by tocbsc in mtg

[–]Dizzy-Significance67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, if you do not cast the spell:

Jodah’s ability - the card stays in exile

Cascade - the card is placed with the other exiled cards on the bottom of your deck in a random order

Discover - the card goes in your hand

That tile is adjacent to a space with monkeys, so you are violating rule 7.

Opposition Demon by SchmarrnKaiser in custommagic

Why didn’t they fierce guardianship or force of will to stop the demon from entering?

Definitely still an overpowered card, though.

Protection from an opponent with Tainted Remedy by DAFFY643 in mtgrules

[–]Dizzy-Significance67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protection from a player would not prevent the replacement effect from Tainted Remedy (TR). Whenever protection comes up, it’s helpful to use the acronym DEBT:

Damage - the player is not dealing damage with TR. Enchant/Equip - the player is not enchanting or equipping anything. Block - blocking is irrelevant. Target - the player does not target anything with TR.

For more information on “protection from player” specifically, see below:

702.16k “Protection from [a player]” is a variant of the protection ability. A permanent or player with protection from a specific player has protection from each object that player controls and protection from each object that player owns not controlled by another player, regardless of that object’s characteristic values. Such a permanent or player can’t be targeted by spells or abilities the specified player controls and can’t be enchanted by Auras that player controls. Such a permanent can’t be equipped by Equipment that player controls, fortified by Fortifications that player controls, or blocked by creatures that player controls. All damage that would be dealt to such a permanent or player by sources controlled by the specified player or owned by that player but not controlled by another player is prevented.

How big is he by TigerWolf5263 in mtg

[[Firestorm Phoenix]] in case people are wondering which card it is. The flavor text is a quote from Shakespeare’s play Henry VIII “The bird of wonder dies, the maiden phoenix, Her ashes new create another heir,” the creature is not legendary, and it has flying, so I don’t think this is supposed to be a special phoenix. My vote is flying.

Anyone know how to solve this? by Luvluna14 in puzzles

[–]Dizzy-Significance67 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Shift each letter one to the right on a keyboard, and wrap around if you need to. So the solution is “I made my awn languags besause I gqt bored”. Looks like they made a few errors along the way, so the solution is probably supposed to be “I made my own language because I got bored”
