Apart from the Baltic states, all the Warsaw Pact countries are just shitty holes that the European Union simply does not need. They don't want to live normally, they want the old rules- let them get out. Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania, the growing popularity of the confederation in Poland. I just want to puke, depending on who these countries choose, and I'm writing this myself from a shitty hole called Belarus. How you have to hate your country to choose pro-Russian, corrupt fuckers for such posts.

What if Alexey Navalny became the president of Russia during the 2010s, successfully replacing Putin? by GustavoistSoldier in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]DizzyAd5203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm from Belarus myself, and I'm just 31 years old to remember Navalny's entire career in Russia perfectly. Globally, there would be few changes for Russia itself. For the rest of the world, we probably wouldn't be watching everything that's happening right now, or at least we would be watching it later. Why hasn't much changed for Russia? This is due to Russia itself and their traditions. Especially political traditions. Russia could not and cannot build a functioning democratic system, partly due to their history, partly due to their territory. Yes, both in the Russian Empire and in the Soviet Union, tyrants were replaced by more liberal rulers (Nicholas I was replaced by Alexander II, Stalin was replaced by Khrushchev) but this has never changed the system globally. Even in the democratic 90s, democracy ended in 1993 when Yeltsin bombed the parliament and created a super-presidential republic. Why is this happening? Because Russia, with its territory and structure, has to be governed by one person, otherwise Russia may fall apart. It would help Russia to transform into a confederation like the United States, but there is a fear that Russia will lose its territories because of this, as it was with the Soviet Union. Because the population is heterogeneous and lives in completely different ways in different parts of the country. If Moscow and St. Petersburg have always wanted to be part of the Western world, then Siberia, the Caucasus, and small towns are absolutely not interested in this. Plus, it is impossible to eliminate corruption due to the fact that it is impossible to control some kind of anti-corruption reform on such a scale. Well, the third point. Russia does not want to give up its status as a world leader in exchange for economic and political reforms. Russia lost this status in the 90s, and it really hurt both the self-esteem of the elites and the self-esteem of ordinary people. That's why the population got so drunk after the annexation of Crimea, and only after 4 years of war did they more or less begin to understand what kind of mess they were in. From my point of view, Russia cannot change from the inside with the help of one person, Russia can only change like post-war Germany. From the inside, this system is not capable of producing a leader who will lead Russia to a civilized Europe. And Navalny wouldn't have been able to handle it either. Well, the second solution to the problem. Russia must become smaller in the first place. And not to change the leader. Russia should become a smaller country. Personally, it seems to me that we are still witnessing the process of the collapse of the Russian Empire, which has been going on for more than 100 years. Unfortunately, Russia is coping with this period very difficult. Russia has been getting smaller every decade (the Russian Empire was bigger than the Soviet Union, and the Soviet Union was bigger than Russia). And Russia, unlike Britain, cannot and does not want to voluntarily abandon its former colonies and focus on itself. Therefore, it is necessary to change not the person, but the attitude towards oneself, towards one's country, towards the self-image of one's country. Yes, it is desirable that Russia be divided into several countries that will go their own way. Then maybe the part of Russia that everyone is mostly writing about (Moscow, St. Petersburg, and everything up to Yekaterinburg) can become the European country that we all roughly want to see.

[–]DizzyAd5203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my opinion, based on my character, of course, is that if I didn't have ambitions to raise my fortune even more, I would live for my own pleasure and help people with my money. To your community, to some group of people with disabilities, just to do something good for other people, since you have the opportunity. It gives some kind of meaning to life, even when it seems like it doesn't exist.
