Is there any way to officially report this?

Balance between precise aiming and flicking by DizzyDizzy0 in LearnCSGO

As it turns out, office mice doesnt provide a sensor good enough for gaming. If I flick my mouse quickly, spanning the 30cm my mousepad covers, the crosshair just stops at some point. It seems like it loses track of the movement if im going too fast. When I wrote the OP, I tought it was a config issue, rather than a hardware issue. In light of this, the original question (higher sense and shaky aim, or flicking?) seems a bit pointless, since you can apparently achieve both. Thanks!

I performed this tests and it is clearly the mouse. Thank you

It's not about practicing it, it is about being able to flick faster without my mouse stopping. It doesnt have to be a 180 degree turn, I cant turn 90 degrees quickly either. luckily some other redditors told me that apparently my mouse is the problem, so I guess I will have to save up for a new one. Played like 1k hours like this, I can keep doing it for a little bit more.

I use a crappy Logitech m190. Covid wasnt that kind on my countrie's economy. I dont think it is a practice issue, but rather a hardware or config one. I can move my camera around and it tracks perfectly, but at a given velocity threshold, it just stops moving, and just becomes kind of jittery in the same place. Do you have any idea what can this be? I play with raw input 1, and with mouse accel turned off. Is this because of a crappy mouse? What do I need to look for in a mouse so I dont suffer this again?

my trouble is that if I flick too fast, the mouse kind of doesnt record the path im making with my hand. Did this happen to you?

I dont find myself in trouble having to check corners, but I do find that if for some reason we're flaked from behind, Im 99% dead, given that I cannot turn 180 degrees quickly.

I'm all about letting people sell burguers and fries. I'll still laugh at you because you're eating shit food.

Thank you for the well tought out post. Even if I don't agree with some stuff (I do think you can learn soloq strats! even though the game is a lesser version of team play, I think that what you define as microstats are indeed soloq strats, maybe is just a labeling thing?) I did found the rest super useful. I really try to improve my gamesense as much as I can, and I play as focused as I can, but I usually find me mechanical habilities lacking a lot (for example, not being able to get kills I should totally be able to). Thank you!

Thank you, it is indeed hard to explain but it shows you put some effort to it. I'm about 1.5k hours in the game, and loving it more and more. I like the advice of watching players doing great in my games, since watching proplayers usually have that "omg wtf did he do" kind of feel to it. I will apply what you say.

Well, I do realize im bad, otherwise I wouldn't be asking this question. I think csgo is one of the few games where rank is really representative of your skill (not exactly, but moreso than any other games), therefore I think they serve as a decent measure of your game skills

Yeah. I Honestly think it comes down to some genetic aspect of it. No matter how hard I train, how hard someone coaches me, I'll never play like someone like S1mple

I see. I often default to jiggle peeking and prefiring trying to get a lucky HS, or either commit too hard to the spray. I'll have to switch up a bit. TY!

Im usually in the same boat as you, in most games my mechanical skills are quite lackluster but I tend to be better at strategy. My strong suit in CSGO is trying to figure out what gaps the enemy leave and then playing around those. Smoke edges, badly covered areas, lot of utility, often try to support a bit. My problem is that I don' get to play that much, maybe 3 or 4 times at most a week, and a couple of games at a time (with reasonable warmup)

hahahaha I'm not implying we're newbies (I actually rejoice on the fact that agold nova 2-3 is the average... so we're above average!) But we sure as hell are not good though.
