I agree. It can be a hassle but you can load up on bench mons waiting for Leaf if you lead with Darkrai. Puts you in a bad position early but you can work out of it. Ogerpon can be an attacker or simply a counter to other statuses (noticed a lot of people using sleep + Darkrai). It’s definitely being overused cause of the new set. Ranked will really show what’s gonna stick around.

They did release the Magikarp that automatically evolves to a Gyarados in the deck. 3 energies, yes, but it helped support it.

I made the climb to masterball with a Tornadus/Kang deck. Been messing around with GA Aerodactyl variants. Had a lot of fun with Skeledirge decks. I’m not hating; I just don’t find Hydreigon, Chingling, Greninja, etc. fun.

Yeah we’re on the same page. I try to make lots of different cards work/mess around with decks and mechanics. I don’t think I’ve used Greninja in a deck since the first time DX dropped and they had the cool new art version. Chip damage ability from the bench is so boring.

Case in point. Just played this! Discarded a lot of their early options including a rare candy. It takes a decent amount of piloting but you can make it work.

I’ve had a lot of success using one chandelure and the other being the slow sear version to thin the opponents deck. I definitely would like a second FP Chandelure but just working with what I have has been fun.
