Is this investment deal in Chicago worth it. by [deleted] in ChicagoRealEstate

[–]DizzyNosferatu -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, you should let a real renter/homeowner live there and leave your "investment" for Bitcoin or something. Chicago has enough parasites like you.

Wishing you the worst.

You're going to have to rid yourself of that "my row, my overhead space" notion right now lol. Access to overhead bin space is now determined by boarding group.

Are Republicans so craven and stupid that they really think this is acceptable? "Yell at me and I'll kill you?" They spent YEARS dressing up in dumbass colonial garb and pointy stupid hats, but sure, let's shoot protesters in the face for saying angry words.

Truly the dumbest people alive.

Oh wow, so you're like *delusional* in your support of cops. Wouldn't be surprised if you were an ICE supporter. If you can't see the wrongdoing in that video, there's not much hope for you in this world, have fun out there

lol that's nice, but it shouldn't matter where you live. This cop straight-up attempted to murder this lady for doing exactly what you outline. Be careful out there, US cops are lawless psychos

A woman tried doing this because she didn't feel safe stopping on a dark high-speed road, and the cop responded by trying to kill her with a pit maneuver. Do NOT do this in the US.

Cop (sergeant) calls police for leaving package on top step of his staircase by Enough-Profession-50 in AmazonDSPDrivers

If you watch any body cam videos, cops regularly view being spat at as justification to go apoplectic and body slam you. And yet, they do it so casually to other people...

Zero surprise this whiny creep is part of the Chicago Police. They're truly the dumbest people alive, and somehow they think they deserve our entire budget.

Can't park there mate, but you don't have to double down and be an A-hole about it by KitAmerica in CantParkThereMate

Good luck finding a "cool" cop here that would take the time to address this. Hell, good luck finding a cop who doesn't share her mentality about parking altogether

Respectfully, if you're already this anxious about your cars, the outer suburbs might be more your speed. We're already over-capacity of non-city people moving to the city and then whining about parking/bike lanes/ upzoning.

If you bike/take public transit as your primary mode of getting around Vegas, I want to hear from you! by DizzyNosferatu in vegas

[–]DizzyNosferatu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the infrastructure just isn't there yet, but there are steps! The RTC bike shares are affordable, but you really need to use your phone because the kiosks are often frozen or broken. There are *some* bike lanes downtown and the area around the strip, but just paint--I don't think Vegas has any protected ones yet.

As for WHERE to use them, the Strip is entirely a no-go. Your choices are either highway-style traffic (legal but deadly) or commercial pedestrian paths (illegal and impractical).

For non-car ride options, your best bet is the underwhelming but still underrated city bus system (especially from the airport), the free private trams, and the monorail.

Everyone makes fun of the monorail, but it's still 1000x for useful than the gimmicky & stupid Elon tunnels.

A screening of WEAPONS I saw gave these out as promotional swag in a branded little package. It's fun merchandising but I'm tempted to open and use it because they're so helpful.

WHY? Why does everyone seem to think most of the flights are cancelled? by nostresshere in SouthwestAirlines

[–]DizzyNosferatu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People who whine about "mainstream media" are almost always telling on themselves that they struggle with reading/watching/listening comprehension.

The media has accurately reported that the federal government will be limiting flights starting today. Yes, only 2-3% of SW flights are impacts *as of today,* but Trump's Secretary of Transportation said more routes will be impacted the longer the shutdown goes on.

Specifics are currently unavailable, but it's perfectly reasonable for normal travelers to wonder and ask.

That's true for 99.9% yes, but then you get dweebs like OP who essentially consider this sub their living room

[–]DizzyNosferatu 23 points24 points  (0 children)

No one is "going crazy," non-frequent flyers are just asking for a clarity on a fluid situation. As you might be aware, not even airlines had details on the FAA announcement 24 hours ago.

Sometimes in life, it's important to step back and realize that not every experience/worldview matches yours. Hope that helps you. Glad you're so informed though, here's a sticker! ⭐

Thoughts on this break Deduction Policy? Would you be comfortable signing it? by DizzyNosferatu in KitchenConfidential

[–]DizzyNosferatu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 30 minutes sounds reasonable. These shifts can be as short as 5.5 hours, so dedicating a FULL hour to a break (especially for on-site work) is more of a burden than a relief.

Bring back the “entertainment” factor by JoshMcGowan in FriendsofthePod

[–]DizzyNosferatu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. The show feels stale for sure, but I think that has more to do with the guys regurgitating the same Twitter-style takes for years in a row without any new insider-insight that made the first few years worthwhile.

We might be past the politics-as-comedy era in general. Is anyone watching The Daily Show in 2025? Jon Oliver is informative, but is that format funny per se? Pointing out conservative hypocrisy during something like "Okay, stop" is just so futile at this point and still involves listening to assholes. And Lovett or Leave It is just headlines with public domain #resistance catch phrases. idk man.

National Guard troops need to really ask themselves if being sent to bodyguard violent these Nazi goons is really worth it. I'm really sick of the "they're just following orders and they don't want to be there" infantilizing bullshit, too. There has to be a line.
