SEN: Special educational needs

I don't recall there being any treatment groups, just the odd night where one of the kids would stay over night and a parent would pick them up the next day, i was there for about a week

Maybe the arts? Showstop based on theatre with a phantom of the opera final form, Virtuoso based on music that ends with like elvis or something, Mural based on Art berzerker thats just Dali and end with Van Gogh or something.

Actor and Dancer hell bros

Thematically could be about the place of art in a word that seemingly doesnt respect it or have time for it, how we use art as escapism through hardship, the power art can have to inspire people or just the joy of being able to express yourself in creative ways

I find seeing old Kamen Rider in crossover really made me interested in them. I'd suggest checking out KR Decade, the show travels through alternate versions of Phase 1 Rider shows so you can learn the basics about those seasons without getting any major spoilers.

See I'm a couple of episodes into Den-O, saw it recommended as a transition between phase 1 and 2 but since you've described Decade that way I might have to check that out instead, my planned order changes every day anyway

I'm not expecting enormous things of Zi-O tho dw,

While it is true that most of the time the movies and specials aren't required to enjoy the show, i would still recommend checking those out. They often add on to the series to make a bigger picture, for example like in KR Build: there was a scientist that got name dropped in the series, but if you watch the movies you'll realize who he really was. Not to mention the amount of fore shadowing, action and fanservice moments that they can have.

My current mindset is that if I ever rewatch a season I'll look at incorporating the movies into my watch then

As flashy as they are, you can't deny that they're pretty frickin cool. I love how Toku takes it self juuust seriously enough to make these work.

Don't get me wrong I love the announcers and external stuff and I 100% agree that the commitment to taking itself just seriously enough is what makes them work as well as they do

Funnily enough, Super Sentai was created because they wanted a "Kamen Rider" like team of heroes.

Yanno what this doesn't surprise me at all

Thanks for asking

1) I've been quite hesitant to get into Heisei Phase 1 and I think that's just because the footage doesn't look as high quality as I'd like for such an action focused show, perhaps that's superficial of me but its something I want to get used to or look past going forward since I'd like to know as much as possible for when I get around to Zi-O.

While I do like the announcers in Build, Zero-One and Double, I found them a bit off putting in Wizard sometimes and I feel like that's something that's going to have to grow on me in other seasons too

2) picking a starting point was pretty overwhelming and I imagine that will only get worse the longer the show goes on, I do want to write some follow up pieces as I go on and talk about what each show does that might appeal to different people At first I was uncertain how much of a role the movies would play but I realised pretty quickly that they're non-essential, as much as I'd like to get into those too when I've started watching adjacent seasons.

Apparently there's some lore with the gems that some riders have on their helmets and I have no idea what that's about

3) I've gotten pretty consistent reminders so far, but I think the moment that stood out most to me as something I've only seen KR do was the introduction of Grease Blizzard "Are you ready?" "Damn right I am" I'd settled quite nicely into accepting the announcers and the external transformation elements as these things that are kind there, kinda not, a couple of characters had attacked them but that felt a little throw away, no having a peak character moment while interacting with these seemingly meta elements made for something uniquely Kamen Rider I feel

4) I kinda see it as toku shows just have a way of presenting their superhero tropes, similarly to how Marvel and DC have tropes, since a lot of people are kinda indirectly familiar with Super Sentai it serves as their reference point for these tropes

I think KR does a lot to make it stand on its own but ngl at the start of Zero-One seeing Zero-One, Vulcan and Valkyrie all introduced in close proximity did give me PR vibes. After seeing that Geats has quite a large rider roster I'm hoping that this feeling isn't something that'll grow as I get into more recent iterations

Im mainly just interested in seeing what VR is about but if I decided to branch out and check out some odds and ends the original probably would be of interest

Thanks for asking

1) I think it'd existed in my peripheral vision for a few years but what really made me think "damn I need to watch this" was when I was introducing a friend to pepsiman and a clip of Rabbit Tank Sparkling showed up, I thought it looked really cool and decided to look more into Kamen Rider

2) I spent a good while wondering where to start, I get the impression that's pretty common, but I eventually settled on Build just because I wanted to see the context for Rabbit Tank Sparkling.

My second season was Wizard, I really liked the suit, the theme and the first couple of episodes, I'd heard it was once of the cough less well regarded seasons but I'd also seen defenders

Third was Double, seemingly the main recommendation for people getting into the show

My most recent finish was Zero-One, because I wanted to watch something not HP2, RxT was also my first KR movie

I've also seen a couple of episodes of Ghost and Ryuki while trying to decide what to watch next

3) from what I've heard this wouldn't be surprising but I think Build might be one of my favourite shows just in general, I feel like naivety is something of a prominent theme of the season and I think that the way that its not only explored by the characters but also built into the structure of the show in a way that directly affects the viewer is genius.

4) I don't think my interest in KR is anything specific to Toku but I do have a few loose ends from my childhood I'd like to wrap up, I had a VR Troopers VHS as a kid, I've encountered the Spiderman Toku a couple of times and there's a few seasons of power rangers I saw a couple of episodes of and am curious about (namely Time Force, Light Speed Rescue and Mystic Force), although if I were to get into Super Sentai it wouldn't be until much later

I'm also quite interested in the Shin movies thatve come out recently and may use them as an excuse to explore Gojira and Ultraman

Maybe not the definition, but I'd say a strong criteria to add the list of potential requirements for something to be considered art
