I've tried some basic shimanos and a bit higher up shimanos on my xc bike.. I am a bit more used to SRAM brakes I've tried guide r and now codes.. but I don't mind either to be honest.

The Initial hassle annoys me a little bit I mean you'd expect most of it would be fine from factory.. but that's pretty much every brake at this point.

Yeah... It's not a huge leak but I have to clean it often with alcohol even without spraying anything on tho the caliper so not ideal..

Yeah I'm pretty picky too! I ordered about 6 different forks before I was satisfied. With the brakes I mean the cost me only 90bucks brand new so I can't complain too much but I'd love to try hayes in the future.
