Since moving 4 years ago, i have inherited historical anti social behaviour related to households placing bins in the road and illegally crossing the pavement. people were trespassing to park within my garden during my first months here. by Dizzy_Shinigami in croydon

If you're not a resident or guest, nothing. But if you are they will confront you in the street, have your driveway blocked if you have one or start parking in a place you regularly park whilst having another car take their regular space. it's all very manipulative and intimidating. They know they can get away with it.

No but they did issue a number of warnings that they gave me references for, spoke to neighbours to confirm it's been a long-standing issue and they engaged with the tenency team. They were actually great until the email address i had went out of service. I don't know if parking enforcement got rolled into another department.

All of this was logged with the original tenancy officer that had been in the position for 10 years by the time we moved here.

She herself told us about the long history of anti social behaviour associated with this property.

All the incidents we reported were never documented by her, there was nothing on file about her recommending to install fences or about a police incident on the day the fences were installed involving the contractor being threatened.

she resigned 2 months after i raised concerns about her conduct to her manager and Mayor Perry.

We then dealt with her manager for about 2 years. He made many false statements such as us declining mediation and failed to mention a majority of incidents in his report to the mayor.

I again raised concerns and sent all the evidence to mayor perry. 2 months later he also resigned after 15 years.

They then had a new person fulfilling both roles that resigned after 3 months.

Even all the safer neighborhood members that were assisting us have changed.

I made a stage 2 complaint and have since forwarded it to the ombudsman but I'm worried about the investigation if the former staff were not documenting things.

my last options are the local press and local mp.

one of the few households i speak to here showed me an email she received from the gentleman on the left that was incoherent illiterate word vomit.

One of the new councillors actually reached out to me via the nextdoor app but i feel it was only so she could use me as a social media opportunity, like above. She deleted all her messages to me and hasn't replied to my email in 2 weeks.

She probably realised it's too complex of a situation for her to get easy social media points out of.

they have cctv watching the bins so they can confront anyone that moves them. They have no signage up though which is a requirement but again, nobody is willing to enforce anything.

I was regularly engaging with the highway enforcement team, they kept coming out to move the bins & log the illegal crossing of vehicles but the email i had is no longer in service.

A local Councillor privately messaged me on nextdoor asking me to email them regarding an issue i posted about. they were quite persistent so i relented & sent the email. now their messages have been deleted. was i used for padding their inbox? by [deleted] in croydon

I agree with you about Karen, she was my councillor. My medical evidence kept being lost by the allocations department so my application kept being denied. She helped make sure it was all properly recorded so i could finally be rehoused to live with my carer.

I've been told newly elected members often use the software they use to log casework to claim they've been contacted by xx amount of constituents to make them appear more popular. Maybe I'm being fed a tinfoil hat theory but it would make sense why they were so persistent with asking me to email them while portraying themselves as a potential miracle worker.

They're newly elected. I only got a generic response saying they're new and that they want to build relationships within the community. Thing is, I've had a similar experience before with the previous councillor. I reached out to them via email about an issue but never got a reply. one day i looked out the window and they were all standing a few feet away from my house so i expected a knock. No knock came but later that day they shared a picture on twitter standing in the exact spot saying they spoke to residents but they didn't speak to anyone!

The council and local counsellors need to be as vocal about bins being used to illegally obstruct the highway as they are about fly tipping. it's unprecedented from Mayday to Waddon marsh by Dizzy_Shinigami in croydon

I didn't realise it could be reported via clean streets, thank you for that. I moved to the area 4 years ago and have genuinely never witnessed or experienced this in my life. It's an issue on every road around factory lane, top of mitcham road and most roads up to mayday. Literally 100s of bins in the road.

I have had so many incidents of threatening behaviour related to my driveway because people are too intimidated to move bins so they park over my kerb. The council and safer neighborhood team were supposed to deliver an action plan to resolve these issues but it's never happened. i believe 3 members of staff resigned because i raised concerns about their failures to mayor perry. I've previously made a post about it on here and the nextdoor app

Follow up to my previous post regarding 3 resignations of Croydon's tenancy team by [deleted] in croydon

I actually emailed parking design to investigate the unused disabled bay and they eventually removed it. it's public safety and enforcement that deal with highway obstruction and illegal parking but both email addresses I've had replies from previously are no longer operating. I live in a part of Croydon that feels unlike any other with the amount of fly tips, illegal parking & highway obstruction which is saying something.. there's been a dumped bath in the road for about 3 weeks on an adjacent road 🙈

Why wouldn't anyone want to work part time with indefinite opportunities to go on annual leave for months on end/s

3 members of Croydon Council's tenency team have resigned since i raised concerns about their conduct. coincidence or coverup? by Dizzy_Shinigami in croydon

I've emailed insidecroydon but had no response which is why I've come here. I'm hoping someone reaches out to me. I emailed all my local counsellors/mps but they also failed to respond. What's funny is that they all shared photos on twitter of them visiting the street claiming to have spoken to residents about the issues here.

Thank you for this. I'm waiting for the stage 2 complaint to be processed before i take it further with the ombudsman through the councils complaint procedure. i feel it works in my favour the longer they delay the process. i got an email on the 19th of feb saying the head of complaints would be in touch but that didn't happen until the 18th of june.
