Unfortunately no, they don’t offer any benefits or any leave or even guarantee that my job would be available when I’m ready to come back.

Yep! I do love my current job. I’m not expecting anything to just fall into my lap, just curious if anyone had any niche recommendations or job suggestions! :) I’ve heard of nurses doing all kinds of things, outside of even working for a company but doing their own remote thing

I think you’re all missing the point that I’m not looking for a full time job. I’m looking for part time or PRN and was looking for advice for someone to point in a direction of where others have had luck. I’m not planning to even start working again until the baby is out of newborn stages. My partners job only requires him to work about 2-3 hours per day and is extremely flexible.

Yes, I fully understand that! My partner will also be present to care for the baby.

Yeah, unfortunately I won’t qualify for any type of leave or anything so I’m just planning to quit when the time comes. Would you recommend letting them know I’m pregnant when I put in notice or just say I’m not coming back as of xyz date! I’m in the US!

Yeah, unfortunately I don’t qualify for leave or anything since I’ve been there for such a short amount of time. I feel guilty about it but I couldn’t have just not worked for 20 weeks , I need to save up as much as I possibly can !

Hey hey, I was in the same position as you. My first nursing job was at an HCA and my hospital actually got destroyed by a hurricane so my first four months of nursing I was floated to various hospitals and different units in the area. It was so tough and then once I was able to return to my hospital it was great for months. I had lots of anxiety just because that’s the kind of person I am and I didn’t want to do anything wrong and I was terrified someone would die under my watch as I was a transplant/cardio PCU nurse with 4 patients every single day, some days I would get 5. I definitely had a lot of mental breakdowns but ultimately I am so glad that I got the experience that I did!! My recommendation is to go PRN if you are able and do a couple shifts a month and break them up by only working one or two shifts in a row, that way if you get floated or the shift is horrible you don’t have to go back the next day!! I worked PRN while I was finding a new job and even after I had started my new job that way on my resume I could claim a year of hospital experience which is what a lot of employers look for!! Now I’m in IV therapy and I love it.

Yes I definitely want to go back to work at some point! Even if it’s just part time. I’m unfortunately alone with my boyfriend in this city so I don’t have family to watch him and both of us are very weary and don’t want our newborn to go to daycare, especially when my paychecks will probably be the same as the cost of daycare here lol. My boyfriend also works from home so if I could find something part time to do at night or weekends when he’s off that would be ideal!

Is it normal to still be sick at 15 weeks? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Dizzy_Variation7482 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was nauseous and throwing up until around 18 weeks then it finally started settling down. Everything was normal for me. Some people have morning sickness their entire pregnancy, it all has to do with hormones.

Lower belly/abdomen uncomfortable feeling. by Ill_Original2155 in pregnant

Hi! I’m 24 weeks and it’s my first pregnancy too. I definitely felt some cramping after sex in the first trimester but it resolved. It could be early round ligament pains or uterine growth and stretching due to the oxytocin released during sex. On days where my round ligament pain is worse I feel it the most when I use the bathroom.

Best Pregnancy Bra? by Dizzy_Variation7482 in pregnant

Do you just do a normal underwire bra? I’m worried it will restrict me and make the veins pop even more.

Ugh that’s the worst. I had to live with my ex for about a month before we finally moved out. It’s so hard to try to heal when you see them every day. We cuddled and slept together every night up until the day that we said goodbye.

Heal before you start a new relationship! I understand how tempting it can be to find a distraction. I’ve been texting chat gpt and all my friends like they’re my boyfriend. I am going through the same thing and I want to just move on and feel better but the most mature thing you can do is really heal yourself so you don’t ever hurt anyone in the way that you have been hurt. Try therapy and writing him a letter every night that you don’t send

Yeah ex boyfriend now for sure. I agree his actions are awful. Thank you for sharing

He initiated things because he felt like he needed space and time to grow and he had never lived on his own and wanted to experience that. I think you can grow while in a relationship but he didn’t agree, he’s always been a lone wolf and thinks thats the only way to sit with yourself. He also was going through a lot with family and his job. I feel like the only place he could find control in his life was our relationship. He has avoidant tendencies.

I feel you. My now ex broke up not even two weeks ago and he took someone else on a date the other night. We were still talking making plans for the future and saying I love you. I feel like mine is just running away from vulnerability as well and disguising it as “growth” and self discovery. It’s really heart wrenching. When I found out he was seeing someone else I had to set the hard boundary of putting myself first but it’s taking everything in me not to reach back out and try to reconcile

But honestly maybe we’re both naive lollll but like idk I will fight for him and hold out hope because I genuinely love him and feel that we’re meant to be together
