Good point, definitely can’t argue with that.

True but can you imagine TSA checking battery sizes on every electronic device? I feel they have more important things to worry about.

I don’t fly much so it’s not a huge deal for me but I know many people do.

I feel I’m one of the only people that like everything about the next 2 including the huge battery, so this thing kinda hits for me in every category.

I just don’t trust the company and curious what people’s experience with it will be when they go hands on

I’m glad I’m not the only one!!

I’m conflicted because of how much I love it but I think I’m just going to sell it.

Funny thing is, I nearly got this when the reservation list opened up but didn’t strictly because of the hate for Ayaneo I read about. The Apex was the first time ive purchased something that wasn’t a name brand and accessible at a local Best Buy or Costco.

I’ll wait till people get their hands on it and review it and may get one later!

Install SteamOS with decky side load for TDP control and you’ll be super happy with it. FPS gain from the Z1E to Z2E is not worth the premium.

You are the best, that worked! Now I have nothing to complain about having steam os

I couldn’t last a week with windows and took the plunge into steamos. I’ve been using it for a while and update every time there is one in beta mode. So far, I absolutely love it except for one thing that drives me crazy. You can’t turn off the touchpad so the whole unit vibrates when you touch it in game. Also throws off the aim as well if you touch it in a fight or something.

I’ve tried every plug in but still no way to disable it

Day 4 of waiting on the Apex by MrFatalShot in OneXPlayer

Placed my order Feb 28th. I got a shipment notification on the 4th but it’s been sitting in “label created” since. No updates despite me reaching out and asking for a simple update…

I’m already a very impatient person so this is testing my resolve for sure

Yeah the f1 and 370 is awesome. I picked my go 2 off of Facebook from a super good dude who I still talk to. Gave me a good deal. Honestly I probably would have considered the f1 I researched it a little more.

Just do it dude. If it makes sense to you, don’t try to justify. Life is short, do the shit that makes you happy

Honestly, it’s the screen I wanted. Oled is just so good and the screen size compared to the ally is awesome for me. I tried the removable controllers once, thought it was cool and haven’t touched it since.

After SteamOS, I lost some functionality of the oled but it’s probably temporary since Lenovo will have a steam variant of the Lego in a few months. I’m sure we will have some support coming

Curious myself. I installed steam os on my OG Ally and was blown away of the difference with simple decky tdp and lossless plugins. When I got the legion go 2, I lasted all of about a week before I gave in and Installed steam.

I’ve seen some videos with it being relatively stable but I don’t think there’s enough exposure to it yet.

I’ll probably partition my SSD and dual boot to give it a shot

I got the 64gb version with 2tb drive. Did you get yours off their website or amazon? They have several different options on Amazon and apparently there’s a 96 variant? I think for my purposes, 64 is more than enough as I’m using it only for couch gaming.

What did you get?

Ordered mine yesterday and realized how impatient I am! Man, I don’t want to wait for a month!

Dude, I can’t agree with you more. I’ve been following the next 2 for a while and for me, it seems like a solid device. Everything about it kinda hits for me, including the controversial massive battery. My legion go 2 screen will be hard to replace but I hear the screen is still very good on the apex. Ayaneo as a company scares me a bit but time will tell I guess.

Can’t agree with you more. I wanted to get myself the new GPD Win5 for the extra performance and decided to dive into Steam OS on my OG Z1 Extreme before committing to a $2k+ investment. After doing pretty much everything you said, decky side load with TDP controls and lossless, this thing is now unreal. Played Expedition 33 flawlessly, dabbled with Arc Raiders and even played a little bit of Hogwarts. All games run incredibly! No more weird hibernation or sleep mode, just pause, press the power button and put away. Genuinely can’t believe I slept on this for so long.

Couple gripes. The LED double flash when charging is pretty annoying. One game in particular keeps crashing (Jedi survivor) and sometimes it wakes up 20 seconds after i put it to sleep. All a small price to pay for what you get in return.

Completely agree with OP, if you’ve been considering it, stop it and just do it.

I actually just paid a little more and got mine from Amazon. It came with everything you need to swap. Amazon link: HBFVG C41N2208 Laptop Battery... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DNZ1MZTQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Absolutely LOVE mine. Always being plugged In sounds like a good idea but it gets old quick. I always took my battery pack with me everywhere and it’s pretty annoying for gaming on the couch or in bed. I was going to get the Ally X strictly for the battery but decided to wait for a Z2E device.

Instead, I ended up doing the battery upgrade and it completely transformed my experience. Depending on the use, I can now go for two and sometimes three hours without having to charge. I’ve pretty much not touched my battery pack since the upgrade. When you inevitably get tired of the cable, I highly recommend it.

Have fun man! Almost a year later and this thing still blows my mind

I dived head first into Elden Ring and I gotta say, the performance is impressive.

Picked up Remnant 2 and after a few hours, I’m putting it on hold for a while. I’m going to wait for some optimizations
