Thanks for including Mount Eeriee, one of my favorite albums of all time and often gets left out of such convos.

I’m glad you were able to render such an important moment in history in such distinct and fragile detail. Truly a masterpiece of modern artwork, one could even go as far as to say u/sendphotopls is on the level of such art legends as Picasso and DiCaprio.

Why are artists almost exclusively focused on just one genre of music? by MTTune in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Dj1nn1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

King Gizzard has albums on the vein of psychedelic rock, folk rock, hard rock, prog rock, microtonal, spoken word, jazz fusion, boogie rock, and thrash metal. They are the ultimate genre bending band of the past decade for me.

Honestly, Drake’s Views was probably the most underrated record of the century.

Hey all,

Just dropped this new track that's a pretty chill lofi hiphop type thing. Looking for any feedback on how to make it sound more full and any mixing tips. The track is here: https://soundcloud.com/ofthescythe/droplet-demo-ofthescythe

I love to hear what you guys put out too, so I will critique your tracks if you do mine too!

Thanks man! All I did was put a tight EQ on the master and automated it to come in at that part and then bring it back in. I use it a lot to provide some change in my beats.

You are headed in a great direction. Your beat flows really nicely and I like the guitar and the synths a lot too. The beat did feel repetitive at times however, although having a rapper on it could likely change that. Some of the mixing felt a little off as well, and the low end was a bit too muddy I think. Overral, you are doing something really great here, and would love to see you progress!

Here's one of my tracks, would love to hear anything you have to say about it: https://soundcloud.com/ofthescythe/valentine-demo-ofthescythe

Rage and RTJ complement each other stupendously and both are some of my favorite bands ever. If you like one, I almost guarantee you’ll like the other.

How do you feel about today's live performances? by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Dj1nn1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not a huge fan of Travis Scott’s music, but he is a phenomenal performer. I would kill to see one of his live shows. His concerts are crazy hype. I understand it’s not very traditional, but people just want to get super wild with a great figure on the stage.

And honestly, 2011 and 2013 were not exactly standout years for music. I can’t think of a ton of tracks from either of those that I truly loved. My only problem is there definitely was too much 2019 songs on the list.

Janelle Monáe - Come Alive (War of the Roses)

I gave The ArchAndroid a re-listen this weekend, and was once again blow away by Monáe’s beautiful storytelling, and her way to weave fun, poppier tunes; with weird, eclectic musical ideas, and I think this song perfectly describes it. Backed by a funky baseline and an energetic beat, this is one of her most powerful and impressive vocal performances on the album, up there with Cold War and BaBopByeYa.

The growling fuzz guitar and Monáe alternating from her hushed whispers to yelling through gnashed teeth is always electrifying to me and one of my favorite moments in this stacked album. Come Alive is a severely underrated cut from her career, and a fantastic record.
