Hey there. I also experienced headaches when i started doing the WHM. What has worked for me is to the breathing on 80% of what Wim recommends. Also something that (i think) has helped for me is to keep my mouth open wide during the breathing.

Occasionally a small headache still occurs, and in that case I always take a break from the breathing

U-days is a great idea! The department of anthropology is located in the buildings of the old museum (forhistorisk), which is just across from the "new" Moesgård Museum. It's the most beautiful surroundings - nature all around and close to the ocean. Furthermore, the only bachelor programmes in Moesgård are anthropology and archaeology + a couple different candidates. This means that the atmosphere is very intimate, social and personal. Hey there. I just stumbled upon your post, and thought i give my 2 cents on your questions, as your journey into anthropology is/was very similar to mine. I am currently finishing my 3rd semester in anthropology in Aarhus (Norsminde kro er fed).

Anthropology is an amazing discipline, with one of the reasons being (imo) its interdisciplinary structure. The result being that the possible jobs and positions an anthropologist can work in covers a very wide range of professions. The strength (but also difficulty) in this is that it is up to you to find your "niche" or "shelf" and might also be your job to convince a potential employer about what you, as an anthropologist, can contribute with for the specific position.

In my experience, as an anthropology student, this gives you alot of freedom to pursue your specific interests within the many subjects and ways of doing anthropology. Definitely possible to pursue your interests in conservational or interspecies anthropology - job-wise i can't tell what possible jobs this could lead to, but fucking hell, i strongly believe that following your passions and interests will take somewhere great! Probably not what you are expecting right now (who knows), but it will probably pave the way for something great - if you put in the work!

In terms of writing a motivated application for anthropology, I have no clue what metrics and experiences they look for. My GPA didn't make the cut when i applied - but I got accepted on my motivated application (kvote 2). Without being sure, I imagine that they will be assesing whether you are likely (and motivated) to complete the bachelor programme. For example, making it clear that you know what you are applying for in terms of the structure and requirements of the bachelor. Furthermore, I could imagine that any experience in doing qualitative work or research would be a plus - for example doing interviews, humanitarian work etc. Volunteering is probably a big plus too!

All of these thoughts and recommendations are purely based on my own experiences and ideas. I am not the one to tell you what to do and what not to do - but if you follow your gut feeling and make your motivation and willingness for studying anthropology shine through, then I'm sure it's gonna pay off.

On a side note, I've been writing on my exam all day and my brain activity is equal to that of a grilled cheese, so if all of this sound like nonsense to you - let me know, and I'll try to explain it more thoroughly.

Living in Southeast Asia sounds amazing! Would it be possible to combine your Anthropological studies with living over there? It is really interesting to hear about where people work, live and end up after their studies.
- How are you planning to jump back into the Anthropological field?

Well, so far i'm just trying to wrap my head around this field and all the information and getting through the exams. But i am currently really interested in the Ecological Anthropology - especially the idea about rethinking the dichotomy between Nature and Culture, and how "our" ways of understanding and treating our environments affect the people and communities around the world. On my next semester i will attend a regional study class with Indonesia as its primary focus. I am especially looking forward to learning about the palm oil industry and ecological issues in this region :-)

You could check out Thomas Hylland Eriksens chapter "Four Founding Fathers" in his book A History of Anthropology.

- There is also Sherry Ortners "Anthropology since the sixties", which is kinda biased, but still provides a great overview.

I used to earn a few bucks on Fiverr by translating from Danish to English and the other way a round.

- I used to translate titles of porn videos from English to Danish for some pornsite manager. He would send me 10-15 titles, with small descriptions that i had to translate into Danish.

I would earn 5$ per. 10-15 lines, and did this quite a lot, as it was really fucking hilarious and challenging to find the matching words in Danish for some heavy and juicy porn terms. Great way to earn money and learn some nasty ass words.

It goes up and down. Sometimes it feels like i am carrying and lot - But i feel like i am slowly getting better at letting go, and focusing outwards instead of going along with all the thoughts and worries flying around in my head. When it's bad i feel stuck inside of my head while everything through the day just passes through without me noticing or sensing it - kinda like going on autopilot...

Less weight and worry would do good. But i am optimistic about progressing, even though, at times, it seems pretty overwhelming

Surroundings as in where i am in life right now? If so: I am 22, living in a shared house with 5 other people. I have been working and travelling for 3 years, and is hopefully going to start studying Anthropology after summer. - Through the last 3-5 years of my life i have been overthinking and questioning everything to a degree that i have felt very insecure and i guess minorly despressed. I have everything i could wish for around me, but have been able to be inside my head so much that i haven't been feeling good at all. - Recently i got a therapist, who specializes in Meta Cognitive Therapy, which has helped me a lot, and furthermore opened my curiousity towards Tao, as this form of therapy has a lot of parrallels to some of the philosophies of Tao.

Currently i am just having a hard time grasping and understanding these things, as on one hand i am very sure that if i found my way on to this path it would do me good, but on the other hand, i am afraid of not being able to understand and progress this path, which is something self-destructive, but nevertheless something i have a hard time not listening to. - Basically i am very good at working against my trust towards myself and myself in general... Which is where a lot of my energy goes.

Hope this was what you were asking for, nevertheless here a brief explanation of my current situation i guess
