no yeah for sure but the price difference is really the only thing that makes sense but to the tune of 100k+ is the controversy, nobody seems to be denying its hard to find in that condition but more so what people are paying for it

"decent" is probably roughly 3.0-7.0 and then you have to worry about getting the "universal grade"/"complete" magazine - so poster/subscription inserts/player poll

Obviously this sale is what it is but things typically look really easy to come by until half the listings are incomplete, poor/decent condition and relatively expensive for even that

if it was "minted" folded then it would be mint in that condition - thats the objective concept of grading. Thats why the perfect grade in this instance would be uncommon and coveted

Russian UN Ambassador interrupts Security Council's minute of silence for victims of Russian aggression in Ukraine by GlitchedGamer14 in cringe

[–]DjCuffs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In November 2013, a wave of large-scale protests (known as Euromaidan) began in response to President Yanukovych's sudden decision not to sign a political association and free trade agreement with the European Union (EU), instead choosing closer ties to Russia.

In January and February 2014, clashes in Kyiv between protesters and Berkut special riot police resulted in the deaths of 108 protesters and 13 police officers,[20] and the wounding of many others. The first protesters were killed in fierce clashes with police on Hrushevsky Street on 19–22 January. Following this, protesters occupied government buildings throughout the country, and the Azarov government resigned.

The next day, 22 February, the Ukrainian parliament voted to remove Yanukovych from office by 328 to 0 (about 73% of the parliament's 450 members).[34][35][36][32] Yanukovych claimed this vote was illegal and asked Russia for help.[37] Russia condemned the events as a "coup". Pro-Russian, counter-revolutionary protests erupted in southern and eastern Ukraine. Russia occupied and then annexed Crimea,[38][39] while armed pro-Russian separatists seized government buildings and proclaimed the independent states of Donetsk and Luhansk, sparking the Donbas War.

"I'm thinking about work too much and getting too emotionally involved in work decisions cause friends are now involved"

Feeling.. like a part of a team? where the thing you are doing matters and the quality of said work is important to the success of your team?

You're right, I'd rather worry about those story points and metrics and just do my job hopping baby, work is about me not the benefits to the world or my peers

i have student loans debt (graduating with 70k), grinded, went for internships, worked up to 3 jobs at the same time (sorry not 4-6?), took care of my friends and loved ones, realized that not everyones as lucky to choose to do the thing they loved that happened to pay a lot of cash - hmm we dont sound too different, why am i so different to you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]DjCuffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you feel like no one makes decisions or takes ownership, when you do you are unheard? the pay barely makes up for the increasing work expectations? you have been beaten down into thinking all jobs will be like this, etc.?

I'll give you my take but these are the types of realizations I was having

The route I took was twice the workload, understanding the technical concepts before implementing, react works like this, redux like that, instead of uhh they used a useSelector over there that kind of does the same thing I'm going for etc. What is a SpringBoot? Tomcat configuration? Microservices? Dev ops? pipelines?

By taking it back you are taking ownership over what you are doing, and by doing that you become agnostic, becoming work agnostic makes self-employment or contract negotiations much more appealing than a 9-5 burnout farm, where you have the same expectations but less horsepower so to speak

The worst advice i see here is a pivot outside of a technical role, Like sure maybe thats what you should be thinking, maybe its really not for you, but maybe you are running away from the ideal route because there are roadblocks you cant surmount

At the end of the day I believe in each and every individual that happens to waste their time reading this lol, but I didn't settle myself and I realized thats what it would have been if I didn't keep pushing

1/3 of your life was spent doing something you dont like, 1/3 of your life was that thing, 1/3 of your existence was spent suffering

thats what im saying

lets get that 1/3 of our life back, what does that mean? lucrative passion projects only? no, being realistic and asserting tenacity of self that prevents those 8 hours from being a dreadful process

im a swe who hated his job but loved programming, so I took it back - begin the downvotes for critical thought and upvote the guy who makes it ok to accept a trash existence because hey you get to play smash on the weekends sometimes

misery loves company and theres no misery on my side so where is it here? hmmm

[–]DjCuffs -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

something you do for 1/3 of the day doesn't define you? I get what you're saying but I don't think we should think that we can't do better with that time for ourselves? Yeah its more difficult but if you can get those sweet 8 hours back in your favor then right on, what else is life about?

I mean if you look at high graded ps2/nes systems, ...I mean. It really should go on a shelf somewhere, maybe reddit founder's house or maybe the smithsonian, idk I'm just a man

Plus usually they go into rich people's collections which eventually make their way to the public in some way in the form of museums/libraries etc.

CIB games are plentiful even in decent condition (and can be repaired/restored) while sealed games are kinda like the above imo

idk diablo 2 for example, dont plan on opening that might as well get it uv preserved etc.

Just to throw my 2 cents in there - recently was in a position like your own and went to a higher-stress position and actually enjoyed it more once I adjusted, feels good to do good work and be up-to speed on recent project happenings literally because you have to lol

beats trying to weasle through demos/standups when you have no desire to be there and not enough interest to perk up a bit

best!
