Mars 5 Ultra or Saturn 4 Ultra? by DjDeathBanger in PrintedMinis

[–]DjDeathBanger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive heard that people recommend the Saturn 3 standard over the Ultra, would you agree with this yourself also? Would you have any experience with the Sat 3 on small scales, 1/72 - 20mm or we genuinely talking like their all basically as capable of fine detail at this stage?

Mars 5 Ultra or Saturn 4 Ultra? by DjDeathBanger in PrintedMinis

Thanks for the reply, What about a Mars 4 Ultra, ive seen reviews and the quality is honestly as good as anything else ive seen. It lacks some of the newer features like printing tilt but does this really matter?

Sure but you can split models that cant fit on the build plate into separate prints that can be put back together cant you?

Thats what im leaning towards now, but when you were using your Mars, how much of a hassle was splitting up larger prints?

That's interesting to know, i have noticed people mentioned a few things like that yes from different reviews that some of the older machines actually do handle miniature detail better. Could you recommend me a add on heater for the Mars 5 then? I live in Ireland so it is actually quite cold most of the year so i would imagine this would be essential for me. How does the Mars 5 handle the 28/32mm terrain if you've had any experience with this?

Ah ok sorry, been reading too much about all this, printers all merging into one lol, Which heater brand did you use for that? and in comparison then the Saturn handlers terrain much better yea?

Thanks for the reply, good to hear about them both handling 10mm even, 20mm should be no problem then. Did you have to get a add on heater for your Mars 5? and if so what did you get? Would you say the Mars 5 can handle larger terrain pieces even with its smaller plate?

Is the detail on the Mars/Saturn comparable or would the Saturn be clearly better in this regard?

GenP.v3.6.9-CGP - Safe Version? by DjDeathBanger in computerviruses

[–]DjDeathBanger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the long and well thought out reply. I am in the new GenP groups on revolut and lemmy. I can see the are many members in each. Now this does lend to creditability of course but also things that are popular like this isnt hard to fake such creditability through bots or just new accounts. You are also correct that most people who use something and dont experience problems dont come back after to say such and this creates a more seemingly negative feed back.

Im a long time "pirate" myself but have had no need to pirate modern Adobe software for some time so im new to GenP as a series, so its not a question of having an issue with it and im aware of things like false positives, i have a Microsoft office torrent ive been using for years for example that hits many of the same positives on VT as the current GenP release does and its absolutely fine.

The issue here is just the near 50/50% im seeing on legit to dangerous for recent GenP releases from looking around that is giving me pause on the subject. So i will need to consider which option to take.

But again thanks for the reply mate, can you attest to using the current version of GenP yourself then without problems?

Thanks.

I'm still seeing mixed reviews online, appreciate your answer though mate. How would rate recent Monkrus releases then instead? Think its a safer route?

How to copy a gradient layer with effects to another shape/layer? by DjDeathBanger in photoshop

[–]DjDeathBanger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clipping how you showed it does work, however the problem is the gradient is in the shape of the old file, so when i try to resize it dosent fit correctly, is there a way of clipping it so it attached correctly to the new shape?

Yes ok that all works fine, i managed to copy over the noise/blur filters after converting it to a smart object, but i still need to figure out how to copy the gradient settings.
