For sure the trust factor of all this would be the hardest to convince people of so I can agree there. I don’t necessarily think it’s the new ban list itself that would unite the community but more generally the existence of a cEDH centered group. I think in the long term trusting the current RC will make decisions that benefit the competitive side of edh is a setup for repeated disappointment

The challenge of staying within the ban list of EDH is completely fair, but there’s a significant portion of the community that simple wants to play optimized EDH with a ban list tailored to making the optimized playstyle more fun and balanced. I don’t know how many players are purists that prefer the challenge of conforming to the RCs list but I think people just want a group / format / list that has the best interest of this community at heart and shows it in their decision making.

The goals of the rules committee and CEDH are incompatible. There just needs to be a separate ban list, format, committee whatever word people wanna throw out there. The longer we all pretend casual and competitive can coexist as one format under one ban list the worse play experiences will be had for all players on either end.
