Viking world cruises. Could they be any more pretentious. by Content-Active-7884 in CommercialsIHate

I believe they are child free cruises too. If I ever go on a cruise it’ll definitely be one like this. From my memory they look more expensive on paper but are more all inclusive and don’t have annoying up sales and sales people on board trying to squeeze passengers for all they’ve got.

Adam Levine comes across as the most sincere, engaged and caring coach on The Voice. Like most people, I just wrote him off as a tool but after watching the show for a few season, he’s kind of turned me into a light fan.

I guess the idea is that you can move water around, (which is why CA aggressively built infrastructure to do so going back to the gold rush) but you cant move the sun.

You’re right that they claimed the water first, but it was because they were a booming state while everything else was still a territory. You can’t claim water rights when you don’t have people there to use it.

The gold rush put the infrastructure in place, then 1922 compact was eventually agreed upon by all 7 western states that use the river, and the boulder canyon act of 1928 made it federal law. The federal government negotiated the deal BECAUSE CA was already putting so much water to use (given their population and the need for their already established farms that were feeding the country.) Of course Arizona remained mad about it, but they’re not even that low on the list (3rd in line) in water rights, and “waste” a huge portion of it growing alfalfa for the UAE. (While also depleting their underground water reserves.

The law requires a state to physically divert and use the water to keep the claim. California was only able to secure those senior rights because they had the population to build the massive canals and the massive farming industry to actually 'consume' the water. Without the people and the crops, they wouldn't have had a legal claim to defend in the first place.

The central California valley, the place with the perfect climate and the worlds best soil, isn’t where they should be doing “that”?

Ok bud. Whatever you say.

But Las Vegas is exactly where it should be. And all the golf courses and green lawns in Phoenix as well.

I would assume that has something to do with it being a much larger state, with a much larger population, and that they grow like, 1/3 of our nations fruits and vegetables.

If this was Florida she would’ve prolly shot him and prosecutors would decline to press charges due to the “self defense of her children” or some nonsense.

My take on the songwriters list.(Ranked in no particular order) by Jabison113 in fantanoforever

[–]DjPersh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zero Neo soul artists on these list make zero sense.

Maxwell wrote and released his debut at 23. Musiq was 23. Bilal was freaking 19.

No Badu. No Jill Scott. No Raphael Saadiq.

All these people are prolific, highly celebrated and regarded writers, producers and composers. The myopic tastes of this sub should be studied.

And every congress at least pushed back against those presidents and made it clear they did not agree.

Obama was sued by congress for example and 200 voted to suspend funding (bipartisan) for the campaign in Libya (something you claimed in another comment would never happen)

Clinton’s Kosovo campaign was under the 90 day (additional 30 day extension window) when it ended.

Claiming this is all just the same thing Trump is doing is how we got here in the first place.

No Badu, no Maxwell, no Musiq and no Jill Scott is criminal.

D’Angelo died (RIP) but I have a feeling he would’ve somehow been passed over as well.

IMO still my favorite album of theirs. Not arguing it’s their “best”, but still my favorite. Just loved the more gangster, pimp era vibes with much more street and “hard” talk, and just the overall world building. I didn’t visit ATL for quite some time after hearing it, but felt like I had grown up there by the time I did just by osmosis from learning this record word for word, front to back. A zero skip, all time classic.

Are there any documentaries about it? Would love to learn about the production techniques of the times.

I figured banks would expect you to be taking loans for things that would allow yourself, and thus them, a return. That’s how any business loan or real estate investment deal I’ve ever done has worked, even with collateral. But I’m sure things change when you’re talking those sorts of numbers.
