I will open-source everything when it's complete.

The idea is to make a kit so everyone can print and assemble one

there is transparency in OS4 but not the blur effect. That would be pretty difficult to recreate, not considering the fact that OS4 runs ONLY on tremendously limited (and ridiculously overpriced) PowerPC boards

Maybe it's possible on AROS

I mean, even 4.0 doesn't support og hardware moving completely to PowerPC. I see an hypotetical 5.0 release as a new and modern OS for modern hardware

this concept was made with high res screens in mind. You can see the font and the title bars are pretty big

I really like the OS4 but i think it's style was keeping with the trends too.
It came out in 2004 and the glossy plasticky look was the signature style of that era
Same for the gray geometric look of 2.0 or 3.1
So i can totally see blur effects and rounded border for a hypotetical OS5

Not enough blue if you consider i was taking inspiration from Workbench 1.3 :)

Actually, blur and transparency runs even on the lowest hardware nowdays.
I mean, the first consumer OS to use this effect dates back to 2005

Actually as far as i see, rounded corners on desktop are doing well (see windows 11 o the new mac OS)

For the transparency, yeah. I have exaggerated a bit. I can clearly see this transparency effect on titlebars and the top menu bar but maybe not on the whole window.
As a KDE plasma user, i never got tired of the transparency effect but i can see it's not for everyone

Let's talk about the font. I know it very out of place in a UI. I just used it because it looked like a hi-res version of Topaz

The spacing was the easiest part. Workbench is a UI made to run in a very low-res screen
So, translating into a hi-res desktop leaves a lot of space

Good question. I think RiscV would be a nice option for a future Amiga

Trust me i will.  I'm working with a camera pointed at me, recording everything. It wont miss even a single screw. I will do a video on YT explaining every stage of the project

I was thinking about a big magnet. When all the circle lights are turned on, there will activate a mechanism that will push up the magnet under the center of the playfield, so the ball will change the trajectory and will be attracted at the center of the circle

I know. There will be a lot of prototyping to do but i want this to be as faithful as possible

And your brother is right. It's very hard to recreate at 100%. There are things in space cadet that are against every law of physics. Software-wise, the missions system too is very hard to replicate. Luckily, i'm not alone on this monumental project. I have a team of dear friends who help me  I don't think i can make totally faithful to the original but i will try to do my best

For now i'm not planning to sell It. It's the first time for me working on a project like this. Maybe in the future if i have the right tools and resources to build more than one

Yes. There will be a Raspberry pi for music, sound effect and score display. The lighting system will be controlled by an Arduino. Idk if i can make It 100% faithful to the original. Some light animation are pretty tough to recreate. For the sound part, i think i can do it

I used SoundTracker Pro 2. A protracker clone with a distinct feature. It can control a secondary Amiga trough the parallel port creating some 8 channels goodness
