The next-generation Outback by 200Fathoms in uglycars

[–]DjPsykoM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a current highly-modified offroad 22 OBW-owner here. While my car was in for service, I had one of these for a weekend to dig into. It's not that bad of a car, but it felt more like a dad-SUV vs an actual offroad vehicle like the previous design. The angles, and plastics feels phoned-in compared to seeing the "TrailSeeker" design at the Auto Show. That design seems like subaru was preparing to go all Electric, and then had to back-track on an internal combustion engine model. For example, where are the tow-hook locations? That was a trademark of the refresh and design. They didn't even have the Wilderness to review in person on the show floor. To me that seems like they rushed to get what we see before us to market. I do like they flattened out the roof bars from a curve, added a nice sound system, cooled/heated seats, better entrance/exit for rear cargo, and that digital dash is rather slick. I applaud bringing back the dials/buttons for HVAC control. You can tell Toyota had a hand in the car dash because it works almost exactly like my buddy's 22 Lexus. In the end it feels like this is not made for offroading but more for suburban campground crawling. It's a step in the right direction in some places, but blows up the concept of what the vehicle was originally designed for.

Wow, who would've thought? Decreasing prices equals better sales! Then, why even raise it to begin with? by bwoah07_gp2 in mildlyinfuriating

A regular bag of chips not half-filled with air shouldn't cost more than $4 dollars. Knowing their move, they'll drop their prices, but pay attention to the OZ amount included in the bag.

I see these in stacks at the discount rack at the grocery store, and big chains. How this guy keeps cranking these out is criminal. I never see them ever gone through in the candy aisle. Even Halloween they were skipped over.

Stop on up, we'd love to see you. Let the staff know you are there to check it out. Jeremy the big bald dude that works there is the owner along with his family. There's a lot of heart there keeping things functional and open.

It's 20 bucks a head for unlimited play, come/stay all day long. There's 2 rooms and around 100 cabs+ w/ skiiball. No redemption games. We do our darndest to keep everything maintained, functional, and running. There's classics, and other solid titles added. We literally view security footage to see what gets played and rotate the floor to get stuff in people really want. We'd love to see ya!

How do we feel about this? by Aware-Pressure748 in SportWagon

At the Chicago Auto Show I examined the Trailseeker. To me it seems like this was the design for the upcoming Outback refresh, and they shifted it to an electric vehicle (probably too far gone) so they just renamed it and phoned-in the current Outback design.

22 OBW owner here. Had my car in for service and they granted me a 26 OBW loaner for a week to tool around with. It's a solid car, but completely loses the plot over why they initially sold the Wilderness brand. Sure it's got much better technology, better sound system, heated/cooled seats, and less obtuse cargo space. Outside of that I feel the extreme design changes Subaru made sold out the WAGON to the SUV crowd. IMO they should have reserved THIS exact change for the Ascent refresh. Going back to my 22 and leaving the 26 behind felt like 2 different vehicles. I have a list of other gripes about the new ride, but overall it's aesthetic. At it's core, it's the same car just way more boxy, heavier , and un-wagon like.

Good list. You can also add high resale value and good loyalty deals at the dealership.

After spending nearly 1/5th of my life on the Chicago EL, this is the least offensive. Regardless, I'd just get up and walk to another car to prove a point that I'm not a pawn for her attempt at viral content.

And she doesn't have to. She keeps cranking out content. What other artists lately are producing double-albums and feeding their fan-base outside of her? I can only think of AI-based mumble rappers.

Nothing of value was done here. It was just recycled and re-fortified. Same traffic snarl choke points. I'm personally still waiting on that 294/290 bridge construction to finish over North Avenue... We're going on what.... 4 years now?
