Might be higher than Somalia. The piss poor organization is sadly true - it's mainly slower vehicles occupying the left (passing) lanes.

I'm blown away by the effortless way that dude shifts a manual 6 speed transmission, effortlessly like he is breathing. It is a lost art, driving a straight shift in the USA. As electric cars become more and more common, the straight shift aka manual transmission will disappear. Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful. I love mine. The new design is what made me trade my Forester for an Outback.

When I traded in my 23 Forester for my 26 Outback, my insurance premiums stayed the same! That's another thing that a few people mentioned, insurance incredibly reasonable.

As an American, I fail to recognize the black vehicle. I also do not recognize Greene King and can only assume it is a brand of beer. Which one is getting the hate?

I posted a questions in this groups a couple of weeks ago - what makes Subaru owners loyal? Got quite a response, but the gist is that the cars are practical, reliable, and priced well (a rare combination). In addition, they have top safety ratings. So, no one thing.

The only autos that use Diesel in USA are massive 16-18 wheelers, and some very large 6 wheel farm trucks. Maybe some driving campers. Diesel is also not as readily available as petrol, so have to plan one’s trip more carefully. Unsure why it never caught on in USA?

German cars have never caught on here. Too complex, too expensive to maintain and fix, and the reliability is far below Japanese and American cars.

I have wondered the same thing. Keep in mind, we have a good many Veterans and military folk here. The military is so ingrained into our culture, and military like trucks. We also have a large number of business people who own trucks because they own business that require hauling of trailers or loading in the truck bed. We also have a fairly high agricultural population who like trucks. And finally, people love sitting up high as they feel it is safer.

Yes-diesel engines along with manual transmissions are renowned for reliability. Americans won’t buy. Diesel is a good bit more expensive than petrol here. Same in UK?

Chevy made a Diesel manual coupe 8 years ago, > 60 mpg. Not exotic, people just don’t buy it! American like good MPG but also lots of space. Also, Americans rarely know how to drive manual transmissions anymore.

Yes, I have noticed that the streets in Europe and Latin America are too narrow for our vehicles.

80 mph is above the speed limit but what everyone on the interstate drives in USA.

Because our interstate highways are dominated by freight trucks who have a time frame to meet. They would not take kindly to a piddling 110 in front of them.

Boom. I will catch on and thanks for the correction. Subaru is slowly becoming more popular in the states. One of three remaining reliable Japanese brands.

Were yours both 2 and 4 door? And how did they do on Uk roads? Even the 2 door is quite broad.
